Yes, I am dubious about that too.
I was, recently, a senior history major and fine art studio minor at a small liberal arts college (although I regret not adding a physics and Russian minor and becoming a Cold War major.) I also worked as an editorial assistant for a professional history journal.
Now I design museum exhibits on food history, research world affairs, intern at a congressman's office, and copy edit psychological advice recently translated from Romanian. My favorite bit of love advice from the Romanians: "You need a partner who understands your need for constant fusion." It's true. I do have a soft spot for mad scientists. How did they know?
According to my coworkers, giving majors in the social sciences existential crises when monologuing about the fabric of spacetime. I can't help it, I just get so excited.

Food: Apparently Turkish. Cafe Istanbul rocks. Anything with feta cheese, olive oil, red peppers, or spinach. Lebanese, Moroccan, Pakistani. Those little baby octopi freak me out a bit though...at least have the decency to bread them or something.
Update on the baby octopi--when breaded, they are irresistible.
The fact that everyone and everything came from a singularity. We're all a lot closer than you think, eh?
Time travel and its ramifications.
What it must have been like to be in various historical events. What I will live though that will go into future history textbooks. How other countries teach historical events differently. History and memory. The manipulation of history.
Future technology and how awesome it might be, and whether I will be annoyingly hopeless with it.
Sometimes I fantasize about opening a bakery where I name all the baked goods after current events. I could make Arab Spring, and it would be a deceptively light fluffy pudding with a heavy filling that exploded over the sides when cut into. And my customers would talk politics and debate whether my creations were accurate representations or demeaning trivializations...
