I am ironic, nerdy, and cute.

My Self-Summary

I try to approach life as a joke - sometimes a cruel one, sometimes aimed at me, but mostly not - so, however dire stuff gets, if you search, there ought still be a hint of absurdidy to laugh at.

Or not. I guess I just don't really know what to write.

I have a creative yearning - to sate this, I play instruments (guitar, bass, and with some premeditation I can find my way around a keyboard and sing a minor third off-key - plus, I just bought a transverse flute), I dabble in writing, I'm dipping my toes into photographic/PhotoShoppic waters, and I knit.
Now in Swedish
Eh. Alla svenskar kan engelska, ändå; det är inte riktigt lönt.

What I’m doing with my life

Nothing, really - I feel a bit like I'm in Limbo. There are plans for the future - getting really good at guitar/bass/singing/all of the above, getting a committed band together, and live off touring; signing on to a cruise ship and do massage work; taking a break from everything and go live with my Canadian aunt for half a year or so - but nothing set in stone. Or scribbled on paper. Hell, it's not even traced in sand...

...though now, I guess, they're hinted at in this semantic cloud we call the 'net. That'll do for now.

The first things people usually notice about me

Hm. That I'm cute, apparently, at least one user here told me, with the photo being at the top of the profile and all...

...and me growling along to my iPod, while putting up campaign stickers in the night, seem to have made a lasting impression on another recent friend.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books; more fantasy/sci-fi than classically canonical "great" literature, though I prefer the wierder/groundbreaking ones; Solaris, Jeff Noon, William Gibson, Neil Gaiman...I'll probably never read Eragon, and I've had my fill of Eddings, too.

Movies; Mindfucks/twisters score high on my list; The Usual Suspects, The Machinist, Memento...I think I'm laid-back enough to get some enjoyment from most films, though.

Music; I'm grounded in metal, mostly of the prog variety, though my interests are wide. I haven't found any hip hop/rap that I like, though I'd peg that on not trying. I'm not too into either "classical" or jazz, either, but I have respect for both anyway. Bad lyrics are a turn-off; great ones are a plus, but not essential. Name-drops: Pain of Salvation, Lars Winnerbäck, Tori Amos, Machinae Supremacy, Tool, Red Sparrowes...

Food; Conscience-based veggie. Other than that, not too picky (probably not picky enough). Left to my own devices, I tend to cook tomato-based pasta sauces.

The six things I could never do without

Music, and other artistry.
My senses (though I wouldn't mind a few extra ones...)
The swirling mess that is my mind (well, I wouldn't be me without it, would I?)
My iPod. ("Music" a few posts up refers to the art form in general - this one is to drown out the world somewhat. Only way to keep sane during a muzak-onslaught.)
Kittehs. :D
Hope.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

My inanely complicated attempts at composition (be that music, prose, or verse).

A lot of the rest of the time, my mind is eaten by the internet, and I don't think independently at all. I still think, but it's more reactive than proactive.

On a typical Friday night I am

As of late, sitting by the compy. Not much nightlife in this town (and I don't think I ever liked what there is...), and my current friends live elsewhere.

You should message me if

you want to. For whatever reason - e.g. if you find me interesting/cute/hot/amusing/whatever, or if you think I'd find you interesting/cute/hot/amusing/whatever, or if you have some other random reason. I'm not picky.

As I always find myself stumped as to what to write, here's a few topics you might write on:
What makes a good kiss?
Technological singularity; scary, fascinating, both, neither?
Is musical complexity a viable goal in itself? That is, is complex music generally/always/never better than simple music?
Which law of physics do you most want to defy?

What annoys you the most about my profile? (OK, you might want to click an appropriate Edit button for that instead, but if you don't know what to write anyway, yet want to write me...hey, any topic works.)
