My self-summary
Happy, enthusiastic, laid-back and fun is how I'd describe myself. I'm very easy-going and love to spend time with people of all ages and backgrounds.

I love sponteneity and freedom. I love people who say "Yes, let's..."

I love to connect with people on a meaningful and emotional level - I loathe affectation, pretentiousness and superficiality.

I'm thoughtful, compassionate and have a broad perspective. I can be serious and studious but am also whimsical and lighthearted.

I thrive on challenge and keep a cool head in a crisis - so I'm a great travel companion!
What I’m doing with my life
I have a managerial public relations role involving communications and event management. In my spare time, I love to write (am working on a children's fantasy novel), read, keep fit, go to movies and concerts, travel and spend time with friends and family. I periodically do tango, yoga, dragon boating and play touch rugby, and at various times have been very involved in amateur theatre, acting, directing, doing publicity, props, etc
I’m really good at
Writing, dancing, acting, creating, publicising, meeting new people, connecting, strategising, leading, exploring, being curiously engaged and open.
The first things people usually notice about me
My sunny disposition. I also want to say my wonderful intelligence and sophisticated style, but is this wishful thinking?? :)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
My favourite writers include: J R R Tolkien, Ursula Le Guin, Orson Scott Card, Virginia Woolf, Oscar Wilde, William Blake, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Michael Ondaatje, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, John Keats, Angela Carter, Terry Pratchett, Tim Powers, Rudyard Kipling, A S Byatt, Margaret Atwood, Ray Bradbury, Jane Austen, Osho... Apart from The Hobbit, my most fequent go-to book is Linda Goodman's Love Signs, which I think is the most beautifully written and insightful astrological study ever published - even if you don't believe in astrology it's worth a read!

I also love Old and Middle English - Beowulf, Norse Sagas, Chaucer - and am a big history buff. I particularly love the Vikings and Lord Horatio Nelson.

My two all-time favourite movies are The Pillowbook and The Big Lebowski. I also really loved Enlightenment Guaranteed, When the Light Comes, Burnt by the Sun, The Barbarian Invasion, O Brother Where Art Thou, The Darjeeling Limited, Being John Malkovich. I like both the serious stuff and the light stuff.

Favourite TV shows: Game of Thrones, Mad Men, How I Met Your Mother, Avatar: The Last Airbender.

I also love plays, musicals, ballet and opera - anything to do with the performing arts is up there. The Importance of Being Earnest is my favourite play - I've played both Cecily and Miss Prism on stage and am working my way up to Lady Bracknell X-)

Favourite music: anything that makes me want to get up and dance!! I like a lot of contemporary music, but fundamentally my heart belongs to the '50s, '60s and '70s - I spent a lot of time listening to my uncles' and aunties' record collections... Favourite artists: Michael Jackson, Al Green, Prince, David Bowie, Aretha Franklin, Dusty Springfield, Dean Martin, James Brown, Leonard Cohen, Gram Parsons, Sam Cook, Jeff Buckley, Ray Charles, Seal, Emmy Lou Harris, Fleetwood Mac, Petula Clark, Blondie, Beegees, etc, etc...

Favourite food: I love pretty much every style of food! Take me to any restaurant and I'll be fine. My favourite vegetable is broccoli. My favourite dessert is trifle.
The six things I could never do without
Love, Laughter, Dancing, Freedom, Books, Change
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Good question! I'd like to say it's something really interesting, but it probably isn't - it's probably work... When I'm not thinking about work, I'm likely to be thinking about my relationships with the important people in my life and my latest writing project...
On a typical Friday night I am
Probably at a movie, having an end-of-week massage/long hot bath or out to drinks with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Often I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing, though I'm quite good at giving the appearance of certainty...
