I am intellectual, nerdy, and a little classy.
My Self-Summary
I'm an intellectual who loves to act stupid and a socialite who
loves to act trashy. Everything works best in moderation.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a graduate student, working towards my doctorate in
Neuroscience. My primary focus is auditory processing in the brain.
Most likely, it'll be something like what features of speech are
most crucial in establishing identity.
I’m really good at
I'm really good at making other people feel happy when talking with
me. If I'm complaining about something, I try to exaggerate it to
the point of ridiculousness and get a laugh. If I'm excited about
something, I will make appropriate gestures, facial expressions,
etc. Hopefully, it gets you as interested in the topic as I am.
The first things people usually notice about me
I own a lot of shirts from threadless.com, so more often than not,
it's my clothes that people are likely to first notice.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Favorite Books: I don't read a whole lot, but I get the
warm-fuzzies when I think about re-reading my childhood favorites
(Phantom Tollbooth and Westing Game come to mind).
Favorite Movie: Singing in the Rain. I watched it only fairly
recently, but it's so freakin' fantastic and bizarre. It's
definitely worth seeing once.
Favorite Music: Classical music - Brahms Symphony No. 4 (among
others); Non-classical music - The Soundtrack to Katamari Damacy /
We <3 Katamari. (among others)
Favorite Food: Chiles en Nogada, and I have successfully recreated
it in my own kitchen. I don't think I've ever had such carnal
delights before I made it.
The six things I could never do without
1) Music
2) Scrabble
3) Video Games
4) Tea (of all varieties, including bubble)
5) The Internet
6) Running Water (actually, I think I need it more than
electricity...)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I spend a lot of time thinking about food: what should I plan to
make through the week, do I need to make a produce run, where's a
good restaurant to try, etc. Random trivia tidbits come in a close
second, though.
On a typical Friday night I am
Recently, most of my Friday nights have been stay-at-home affairs,
which is fine. Every now and then, though, I'll get an urge to head
out and find some nightlife.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
When I was born, I had 11 toes. And no, my parents didn't take it
home after the operation as a souvenir.
You should message me if
I've learned that I don't want a carbon copy of myself in a
boyfriend. I'm more than happy to be friends though. Just make sure
you have a good sense of humor and by all means, message me. :]
