I am looking for fun, friends, and excitement.

My Self-Summary

Hmm, although I'm normally never short of a word, I am guaranteed at the point that I'm required to write a little introduction of myself to suddenly be lost for them.

I have a son who is 4 years old and I share care of him with my ex partner.

I love to read, and have been known to go through periods where all conversations are to be had over the top of a book, however it all depends on the subject of the book and the skill of the author.

My life has had a few ups and downs over the last few years and I find I'm still trying to recover from those. Despite that I still love to have fun in everything I do, and enjoy many varied activities including kayaking, 4wding, camping and generally getting outdoors and spending time with family and friends. I also write poetry when I have time and occasionally try my hand at short stories too.

I don't believe there is just one person out there for everyone and like wise I don't believe in love at first sight, I believe love develops over time. I have a very open mind when it comes to relationships and love, I don't believe in the cookie cutter ideal that society seems to try and impose on us. I guess what I'm trying to say is I'm not the husband, 2.3 children and a white picket fence type of girl.

What I’m doing with my life

Well I guess at the moment you could say I'm procrastinating but in a most enjoyable and most likely productive way (I'm aware of how contradictory that sentence was). I'm currently studying interior decoration which I'm enjoying immensely and not looking forward to the moment I have to go back to the real world and undoubtedly return to a career that is monotonous and mind numbing. However, by some miracle, I might just land a position in interior decoration and design which would be fantastic.

I’m really good at

Avoiding tedious tasks in favour of more pleasureable persuits (the dishes/folding/ironing can wait).

Losing great periods of time whilst busily reading or on the internet only to look up and realise that several hours have passed and I've most likely skipped a meal (perhaps two).

Spoiling my loved ones to the point where I will go without just to see the happiness that my gift will bring.

Falling in love with any type of animal and wishing that I had a bit more room at home so I could have another pet or two (currently I want an elephant). Instead, I resign myself to the fact I live in a unit and my sweet little rattie boys are going to have to be enough.

The first things people usually notice about me

I guess people first notice that I'm pretty quiet, but that is really only until you get to know me, then you may wish you hadn't as I can be difficult to shut up (in the nicest possible way though).

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books - I tend to not focus on particular book titles, I've read so many books it's hard to pinpoint a favourite. I instead have favourite authors which include but are not limited to Dean Koontz, Michael Connelly, Janet Evanovich, John Marsden, Jodi Picoult and J K Rowling (yes - I do love Harry Potter).

Movies - I'm pretty open to anything when it comes to movies, ranging from great foreign films or film festival type deals, to your run of the mill box office romantic comedies. I do have some favourites though that I can watch over and over and never tire of and these include Pretty Woman and Dirty Dancing.

Music - I love music, and I will often have music playing in the background when I'm studying, cooking or cleaning. I listen to many different music styles which is dependant largely on my mood or the occasion. I can't say that I have one particular style that I prefer.

Food - I love all sorts of food, mexican, thai, indian, japanese, italian, seafood, in fact I will try almost anything once and rarely find foods I don't like. My current favourite though is Sushi and I tend to have it a couple of times a week lately.

The six things I could never do without

My family and friends, my computer, my bed, my freedom, my health and my happiness.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Anything and everthing, in fact I probably do too much thinking. I also spend a lot of time writing my thoughts down just so they are no longer buzzing around in my head.

On a typical Friday night I am

Most likely having dinner with my family or friends or curled up on the couch with a book or watching a movie. On the odd occasion I might go out for a night but I'm just as happy having a quiet night at home with a nice meal, good wine and close friends or family.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

Get to know me well and there isn't much I won't divulge, discuss or contemplate, however I'll keep up the pretence in this public forum of being a good girl.

You should message me if

You have similar ideas to me where relationships are concerned and you can provide me with interesting and stimulating conversation. I am a fun loving girl and even if you don't share my views, I'm always happy to make new friends from all walks of life that I can learn from and have friendly debate with.
