My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a tall and only slightly pretentious art student, born and bred in Burnaby. I like quiet conversations and good food. I'm always geeking out over something, be it that latest show that everyone's talking about, some interesting new piece of art or animation I've just discovered, or whatever the big new indie game is.

I'm an introvert. I thrive in small cozy settings, and usually prefer a quiet night in watching movies over big crowds and loud parties. An acquaintance might describe me as quiet or shy, but a friend would describe me as loud, perpetually positive and probably a little goofy.

I'm INTP if that sort of thing interests you.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
All my life I've loved animation and wanted to be an animator. I'm currently chasing that dream as a third year in Emily Carr's animation program, building towards my goal of working as a character animator, ideally in animated film (games would be fun too).

I'm also working part time as a photographer at the Vancouver Aquarium.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm kind of an all around artsy-fart. I spend most of my time at my drawing desk or at my computer with a tablet stylus in hand. My professional interest is in 3D character animation and rigging, but I love working with paper and ink when I can.

I also spend a lot of my spare time messing around on the piano. I'm really bad at reading sheet music, especially sight reading, and any classically trained pianist would tell me that my technique is sloppy at best, but I'm pretty good at arranging songs by ear or from guitar chords.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I am tall. Very very tall. On a literally daily basis, strangers will approach me with something along the lines of, "Wow, you're so tall! Are your parents tall?" (They aren't), or "Do you play basketball?" (I don't). For a long time I wasn't sure what to make of random people I didn't know commenting on my physical appearance, but these days I just laugh about it.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
•Ending the day with a hot mug of tea
•Free time to be creative
•A piano
•Sketchbooks and good pens to draw in them
•Looking up and seeing someone you love smiling at you
•My extra-long mattress (keeps my toes warm)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Occasionally I'll turn to a coworker and ask a question like "Do you ever think about what it'd be like if we were in the animal habitats, and the dolphins waddled around the aquarium on their flippers looking at us?"

I'm pretty engaged in current environmental issues, most recently the Kinder Morgan Burnaby Mountain fiasco. I also find issues surrounding gender and sexuality interesting, and try to keep myself educated on them.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
If I'm not scrambling to get some animation done for the next week, I'm out being a cliche, drinking beer and/or watching cheesy horror movies with a friend, or maybe just relaxing at home with netflix.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I really wish I had a group to play Dungeons and Dragons with, but I don't have any other friends who are quite that geeky. I feel like kind of a closet nerd sometimes.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
•you want to get drunk and play scrabble
•you'd like to tell me your favourite disney movie
•you're generally attracted to artsy and/or geeky dudes and something about me happens to wrinkle your brain a little.

A past girlfriend once described me as "More Lexus than Ferrari", and I can't deny that it tends to ring true. I don't really do loud and flashy, but I excel at quiet and cozy. Message me if a sunset walk along the seawall sounds better than a night out clubbing.
