[NOTE: Later this summer I am moving from DC to Sydney. So yeah, not looking for anything long-term.]

What to say.

Originally from Canada, I moved here to the USA a couple of years ago for grad school and have lived just outside of DC since then. I am very passionate about what I study, but I am also passionate about politics, the arts, and food and drink (I am actually a quite decent cook!) I like living in the DC area, and taking advantage of the different things the city has to offer regarding all of these interests.

I am always up for stimulating conversations (preferably if tea, beer or a good bottle of wine is involved). Otherwise, to let off steam I like to eat great food or dance (at the bar; preferably to 80s music). When I can get out of the city (which usually means, when I am back home), canoeing, hiking and camping, are long held passions.

I am a student in philosophy and cognitive science working towards my doctorate. I also work in a vision lab on campus.

Being patient (with people). Giving others the benefit of the doubt.

Things that I have recently STARTED (major emphasis there) to get into: rock climbing, volunteering, and swimming.

Eyes are distinctive, I'm told. A friend once called them orange and yellow.

Favorite TV Shows: Fox Soccer Channel, Futurama, Survivorman, Archer.

Favorite Movies: Anything by Wes Anderson or Hayao Miyazaki, American Psycho, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Lawrence of Arabia, the Princess Bride, LOTR. Plenty of others.

Favorite Books: A Moveable Feast, The Plague, The Jungle, Heart of Darkness, American Psycho, the Razor's Edge, Moby Dick, LOTR, The Great Gatsby.

Favorite Food: as far as dishes go, sashimi. But, speaking of kinds of cuisine more generally: Japanese (obviously), Chinese (regionally), French, Ethiopian, Thai, Indian...the list goes on!
