My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
It's almost guaranteed that I will not message you first. There are a variety of reasons behind this, but the primary one is that I seem to have the worst possible instincts in that circumstance.

If I see a profile that looks interesting and shows intelligence and thought and an overuse of the word "and" while completely eschewing the phrase "I'm a laid back..." and "I never know what to write for these things..."; I will get so excited at the possibility of this person having an opinion without being afraid of that opinion that I will completely miss that in the third picture they are wearing a big pointy white hat with a white robe.

Terrible instincts in that regard. So yeah... I tend to not say "hi" first.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Breaking the habits of the past decade and replacing them with healthier, or at least more interesting ones.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Overcompensating for things I don't need to compensate for. Like tipping a bit extra because I thought my voice was a tad on the terse side when ordering a latte.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I tend to occupy the space that I am in.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Currently reading a lot of sci-fi and fantasy. Mostly because when the authors I like start to get heavy handed with the "This is a metaphor for social issue #17" type stuff they can go "And JETPACKS!!!". It just helps to take the edge off.

Again, heavy on the Sci-fi Fantasy stuff for movies as that is where I'm seeing the best character work. Most dramas and comedies that are billed as such recently have had very flat banal characters. Even the movie adaptation of "Choke" which could have been immensely dark and twisted still took the wonderfully flawed and nuanced characters from the book and reduced them to one or at most two aspects of those characters so that the "average audience" will understand it. But RDJ gets to play all of the nuances of Tony Stark because the "average audience" for comic book films expects it after Toby Macguire played Peter Parker, and Heath Ledger made the Nolan Trilogy Watchable.

I don't own a TV or miss having cable since I do have netflix. Mythbusters, Walking Dead, Historical documentaries, and Dr. Who are pretty much the core of what I've watched TV wise for the past few years.

For live shows: Even shows i don't like I still tend to enjoy as I will analyze them for production/ character ideas. you don't have to ask twice.

Musically my collection is all over the place, although the growth has been hindered over the past few years by a combination of economy and not hearing a whole lot that I actually liked. (Auto -tune as a standard just makes me cringe).
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Books, I usually read at least 2 a week. Although I recently sold almost all of the books I owned in anticipation of a move that didn't happen.

My guitars, although I have been picking them up less often recently

Music From various genres. If I had to pick just one genre to get by on I'd be in trouble.

Oxygen and carbon. (there had to be one obvious trite one)

Art in general, although leaning more towards performing arts. I tend to dislike museums because everything in them feels dead to me. Art needs to be in a human environment. Otherwise it's just pretty pictures of flowers and nekkid people.

Computer based entertainment...
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Sex, politics, God, comedy, and music
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Virtually relaxing talking to some friends I don't see enough face to face.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I need to be the "Ugly one" in my relationships. Not saying I'm only attracted to people "out of my league". It just helps balance my worldview.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You read the entire profile. (If only to let me know that you did)

You are an obscenely wealthy person who wants to give the illusion of having an affair by meeting me someplace discreet, and then paying me a large amount of "hush money". (it's worth a shot)

You want to.

You think I should have messaged you first.
