The first things people usually notice about me
They say " You don't seem like you were in the Marines, you are so laid back!" I tell them that after living through a war I can't take anything for granted again. It's the little things like running water, food, family, cold beer on a hot day, music....etc that are so much more precious to me now than ever before.
Deprivation of all these things increases their value so much even years later. In a way Im glad I got thrown into a war.
