I am enthusiastic, hedonistic, and absurd.
My Self-Summary
I'm a dreamer with a
short attention span. I
like music,
contemporary art,
nerdy boys and new friends.
Let's go have an
adventure.
I live on Capitol Hill. If you do, too, you get 3.5 bonus points.
If you live in Renton, you get 8.7 demerits. It's not a judgement
of your character. I would just rather not ride a bus for two hours
to hang out. You understand.
I'm currently in an awesome
open relationship. What that
means to you, oh profile reader, is that I'm not looking for a
happily ever after or any other kind of boring monogamous action.
However, I'd love to make a new friend with benefits who
understands that the best FWBs put equal emphasis on both the F and
B parts of the relationship.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm an artist.
Photography is my first love, though
my degree is in sculpture and I really enjoy assemblages and
collages as well. Something about creating beauty (or at least
interest) from discarded items really appeals to me. I also curate
and organize art events, which is SO MUCH FUN.
My nine to five is working in a
porn shop. I love it. I'm now on my third
store in three years and probably some day I'll own my own little
shop. I'm very much into sex education, and helping people to
embrace their sexuality. When I get drunk, I usually end up telling
off-color stories about hilarious porn store hijinks. So, you know,
don't get me drunk around your grandma.
I’m really good at
Answering sex-related questions, road trips, having great ideas
(but not following through on them), kicking ass and taking names
in Katamari and Scrabble, and photographing
pretty girls.
The first things people usually notice about me
I think the most noticeable thing about me is that my hair is
always a bright, silly color. It's usually hot pink, but sometimes
I mix it up a little.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Instead of overwhelming you with lists, I'm just going to put the
last five of each category that I've eaten/read/seen/listened to.
No, wait. After careful consideration, I think that's only going to
work for the books and movies sections.
BOOKS:
Love 'em. Have hundreds. Last 5: "Interface" Neal Stephenson + J.
Frederick George; "The Difference Engine" William Gibson + Bruce
Sterling; "Rum Punch" Elmore Leonard; "Resistance" Anita Shreve;
"Neverwhere" Neil Gaiman
MOVIES:
Grandma's Boy (cracks me UP! nerdy boys + pot humor = win), The
Chances of the World Changing, Superfly, Black Snake Moan, Disney
Earth (like Planet Earth, but sappier)
MUSIC:
I'm always up to learn about new bands!! I like almost all genres
of popular music, but have never been able to appreciate classical,
which makes me feel dumb. All time faves:
Bauhaus, Skinny Puppy, The Toadies, The
Cure, Bow Wow Wow, The Pixies, Leadbelly, Jesus and Mary Chain,
Godspeed You Black Emperor, The Black Keys, Blondie. I know I'm
stuck in the 80's, feel free to mock me for it. My overly wrought
Robert
Smith-esque black eyeliner provides an anti-mock force field so
it just bounces back off. Just kidding. I can love the Cure without
wearing that much eyeliner.
FOOD:
Food is great! I love veggie sushi (fish is kind of gross), Indian
and Thai cuisine, and big, crazy salads. I'm not a vegetarian, but
could be mistaken for one. I will almost always choose tofu over
red meat and my all time favorite restaurant (In the Bowl!) is
totally vegan.
The six things I could never do without
down blankets (sooooo soft...)
good music and the dancing that comes with it
ridiculously large quantities of iced tea
super geeks that are enthusiastic about learning
the internets!
my fabulous furry feisty pet
gerbil
I spend a lot of time thinking about
You know why I'm really an active OKC user? Because there's a
marked absence of magic in my life lately. What I really want is
long walks through dark woods, strange sex in candle-lit rooms,
road trips with no destination, intense conversations balanced by
time spent enjoying the silence...
I do appreciate ambitious, smart people with their heads on
straight who have a great sense of humor and mad make-out skills.
That's just not who I'm pining for right now.
On a typical Friday night I am
Every Friday is a new opportunity for fun, so they're rarely
typical. Popular options include: Drinking and people watching at
the Mercury or the Crescent, going for aimless meanders through the
city, seeing a good show (art, burlesque, or music), or curling up
on the couch and watching a movie.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
It seems like the people I'm highly matched with on here are also
members of Fetlife. Small world, huh?
You should message me if
... you are a player short for your next Scrabble night.
... you think I'm cute. Really, you should let me know because that
just never gets old.
... you're in the market for a new friend who's interesting,
interested, and won't embarrass you in public too often.
NOTE: I don't do the whole "someone gave you five stars!" thing on
here. It never works right. If you think I'm rad, wink at or
message me. If I think you're rad, I'll write back. Isn't that so
much easier?
