My self-summary
I am a nerd and proud of it. I work hard, play hard, and am trying to figure out how to relax hard. I am someone who loves to have fun exploring the eccentricities of life.

I love to explore as much new experiences as possible. I love anything that challenges me mentally. I enjoy acting in plays and dancing in nightclubs. I have been sky diving a couple of times and am planning to try hangglidding soon. I also really enjoy puzzle hunts, especially in formats reminiscent of the MIT Mystery Hunt. I very much love trying new board games - of the Euro-game style (I am not talking Monopoly/Risk).

I am very analytical. I love to seek out the answer to as many interesting questions I come across. I absolutely love learning and enjoy watching any tv shows, movies and read any books that I believe can give me a new perspective. I constantly attempt to self-improve when I find a trait that I don't like as much.

I love spending time with those who I am close with. I get a lot out of enjoying other people's enjoyment and love to see people truly having a good time.
What I’m doing with my life
Workwise, I'm currently a software engineer at Google. I spend my days solving fun problems that arise from running a service that has so many users and spend my evenings taking acting classes or grabbing a drink with friends.

When I'm not hanging out with friends, I spend my downtime reading books and watching movies, shows that people have recommended that I haven't seen yet. Basically leveling up in as many forms of culture as I can.

Very recently, I have actually started auditioning for different plays in the area. Perhaps I will soon have a thriving acting career as well. If that doesn't pan out, I am working on being a professional quidditch player. One day our sport may get beyond ESPN Ocho, and if it does I will be ready to go all in. Until then, being on a team that qualifies for the National Cup each year is pretty nice as well.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I am getting back to reading after being too focused on the endless possibilities in college. But some favorites (off the top of my head) are Soon I Will Be Invincible, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Eyre Affair, The Princess Bride (the book is so much better (as is often the case)), Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, World War Z, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy trilogy, Ender's Game, The Harry Potter series, and Asimov's robot stories.

As for movies, I most enjoy films that I feel give a full person to the characters (rather than simply being caricatures). My favorite films are films that are not as worried about an intricate plot as they are about letting us see the characters have fun and explore the world around them. So my favorites are Amelie, Annie Hall, most of Tarantino's films, Miyazaki films, movies by Wes Anderson, films by Spike Jonze, and a lot of Tim Burton's movies. It doesn't fit into this generalization, but Wreck-it-Ralph is towards the top of this list.
However I generally enjoy any film that I see as being really well put together. Whether it says something meaningful in a really succinct way, making really realistic and interesting characters, or is simply hitting the tone of its genre right, I enjoy seeing the result of a director knowing what he is doing. As such I have loved most of Christopher Nolan's films. I also enjoy all Pixar films (except for the Cars series which I still cannot accept as bing done by Pixar). I have really liked most of the Woody Allen movies I have seen. So I can enjoy movies in any genre, as long as they consistently and meaningfully live up to their goals.

I have a knack for liking tv shows that get canceled. However it will not happen with my favorite show until we get 6 SEASONS AND A MOVIE (if you recognize that reference, you know my favorite show). In addition to that one, I also love Firefly, Buffy, Star Trek:TOS, House of Cards, New Girl, Freaks and Geeks, Hannibal, Game of Thrones (now reading through the books), The Newsroom, How I Met Your Mother, Doctor Who (I have only really seen from the reboot and I don't count the most recent season as part of my favorite shows list), Arrested Development, and Bojack Horseman.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Pretty much everything. I am interested in virtually any subject when explored to a great enough depth.
On a typical Friday night I am
Most often watching a movie and hanging out with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
People tell me that I analyze things a little bit too much. But I see it as me simply wanting to understand as much as I can about everything interesting (which becomes everything)
You should message me if
You're a girl who's got a brain, who always speaks her mind?
I am really attracted to intelligence and find myself more attracted to a girl who I can respect.
I want someone who is willing to discuss all sorts of topics and enjoys playing with breaking common assumptions of how things "have to be" or "always are."
