Important decisions

Today I decided to quit my second job (as a service technician), since I realized that I might sooner or later die from sheer exhaustion if I went on like this, and that I would still be able to live without the extra money. Incidentially, I had a customer on the phone and broke the news to him. Sadly, he went like "but you're the only one I can trust in the business", and was really down when I eventually hung up. It's really hard to quit when people (customers, not friends) have gotten attached to you, and it feels like betrayal to me. I had to say something like "we will work something out", but I still hate giving empty promises just to make people feel less sad. It's like a doctor saying to a cancer patient: "Sure, miracles happen".

But what should I do instead, further ruin my mental (and eventually physical) health?

Am I that unclear...?

It's strange, but people don't seem to understand me. A coworker asked what I want to eat for breakfast, and I said "Rolls with jam would be fine."
And she replied: "Okay, I'll get you some with ham then."
In English, this would have been a funny misunderstanding. We were speaking German, though, and the words for "jam" and "ham" are not at all similar in this language.
So I wonder: Why do people bother to ask me at all?

Maybe I should rework my profile...

...since it apparently just isn't good advertising. If I only had time...

Do you think drug use with your partner can...?

Do you think drug use with your partner can be a romantic activity?
  • Yes
  • No

Well, basically yes, but not the kind of romantic activity I would like to participate in. Each to their own, though.

Some religions are more correct than others.?

Some religions are more correct than others.
  • True
  • False

What kind of question is this? I don't think this could be rightfully answered with "true" or "false". Often it's rather that a specific religion's followers make their religion look bad due to misunderstanding it. However, is this a correct means to judge a religion? By what means could a religion be judged anyway? People have been wrongly justifying their own selfishness by misusing religion throughout the ages.

Answering this question with "true" might make one appear narrow-minded, because people who say "my religion is the only right one" would of course chose this answer - as well as others whose view is much more sophisticated.

Simply chosing "false", however, wouldn mean not taking into consideration that there are religions (or at least cults) in existence which actually promote evilness as measured on terms of common sense or non-religious humanism - while still most religions don't fall under that category.

So how is this question to be understood, and what's with those who just think that other religions are gradually different according to their own life philosophy, yet usually acceptable on their own terms?
