I returned to the Philly area last year after living in the Bay Area for 15 years. I was a bartender in San Francisco, event producer, tour manager for a crappy pop band, a reporter and news editor in a small coastal town for five years. There are some things I'm forgetting to mention and some I'm redacting.
Prior to my California experience, I hitchhiked throughout the US, lived in St. John in the USVI and sailed from there to San Francisco. I like the unbeaten path.

Being a gentleman; listening; planning; socializing; anticipating the needs of others; trivia.

Social skills, biting wit and devastating good looks.

The Dude, Man..., many 80s comedies (yes, I sometimes quote movies and imitate characters), action with special effects are great for escape, but a good drama, especially historic fiction, is often welcome.
anything by Tom Robbins, Vonnegut, Easton Ellis, Dennis Johnson - sarcasm/humor.
Stewart, Colbert, Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire, Always Sunny, Sports...don't dedicate too much TV time though - school keeps me busy.
Food: I'll try anything once and I hate beets (but that is the only food I detest).

Really, I think a lot about how to maintain a rather large income while I travel and can work remotely, or not at all.
