It's true. After some serious setbacks in my life I'm back in school to finally earn my degree. After attending a community college upstate I transferred to NYU where I've been for the last year. It's been an absolutely amazing experience. I'm taught by insanely smart people and my classmates are diverse and brilliant. But, as you can imagine, people that major in math/CS tend to not be the most social. And, the addition of a 10+ year age gap can make things difficult for a new adult student who has very few friends in a new city.
So, for the time being, I explore the city and have fun with my hobbies. I picked up photography from my former roommates and absolutely fell in love with it. I bought a used Diana F+ and two boxes of Fuji film off ebay. Mix that with a lot of free time over the summer and the result? An 8" stack of photos and several undeveloped rolls of film. I could really use somes frames and a large-format printer.
I love to geek out about movies, science/math, comics, art, design, etc.
"There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach."
