I feel like updating this a bit.
I grew up on a hobby farm in southern Ohio, with horses and chickens and hayfields and ponds and all that great stuff. Loving and supportive family, not super well off back then, but they were always really creative and resourceful, major role models for me.
Skip ahead to modern life in Seattle, been here going on 4 years now. Moved out for work, which has been great, I really love my job. Which is fortunate, because it's almost inevitably an 80+ hour work week! But I do love it, the people are all amazing, it always makes for crazy stories and I definitely belong there.
But this wasn't a straight shot. Before landing in the beautiful PNW I travelled a lot, worked a zillion odd jobs. I lived overseas for a while. I've made cheese in a monastery in France; acted in a traveling Czech theatre troupe; and very nearly died in a desert in Mexico. With my (limited) free time lately I've been exploring the different Hawaiian islands.
Living in Seattle has been the best. I love hiking in the mountains, being so close to so much. Next on my list is learning to sail a little dingy around Lake Union. Any takers?
