My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Life is too short not to make the most of, and enjoy, everyday! Besides, none of us knows exactly how short, “short” may be!?!? I am passionate about living life to the fullest, my children, family, friends, being conscious about the choices we make, creating and making a difference. I believe this life is largely about how we touch other people’s lives and in turn are touched by theirs. I laugh everyday and always want to be growing, learning, and trying new things.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I love sports both as a participant and a spectator. I play baseball, football, soccer, and basketball with my boys. When I travel, I make a point to go to sporting events in different cities, double bonus if a Chicago team happens to be playing. Two recent favorites were a Giants game at AT&T Park and seeing the Hawks at the Garden. I am even in a fantasy football league! Unfortunately, my team is not doing so great. One of my first picks was Adrian Peterson! Ugh! Who would have thought?

Traveling has always been a passion of mine. I have traveled in Europe, Asia and North America (including solo travel in all) and have lived overseas. It has been fun to share this passion with my sons on our adventures both domestically and abroad. Their perspectives are priceless and they are stout travelers (well mostly)!

A love of nature and the outdoors is fundamental to me. My favorite outdoor activities include hiking, mountain biking, skiing, kayaking, and rock climbing. It is essential for me to regularly connect with nature. For exercise, I run, bike, swim, do Pilates, yoga, and weight train.

Professionally, my background is in investment banking (M&A and corporate finance). Thereafter I was CFO of a for profit start up social venture. I am currently mentoring a couple of other start up social ventures.

Something that most people may not know about me is that I like to drive fast! I have even had the thrill of driving on the track at the Autobahn Country Club. And yes, of course, I drive stick! A friend once called me a gear head although I sure don’t think I look like one!

The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Possibly my eyes but certainly my laugh. You will almost always find me laughing! How does one get through this life without seeing the humor in it all?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
My tastes in books, movies, music and food are incredibly varied. I always enjoy finding new music to go along with the new experiences in my life. Yet, I listen to almost everything: classical, jazz, Frank, Dino, the Beatles, folk, blues, international flavors, rock and alt rock. I love live music! I thoroughly enjoy good food and tend to be adventurous in always trying something new. I am pretty good in the kitchen too! I don't really watch TV other than sport events.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
-My sons
-My friends and family
-My belief that everything is going to be "OK" whatever that means
-Good food
-Music
-Time out traveling (both in nature, the mountains and "sea," and exploring different parts of our shared world)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How can I best utilize my talents and unique experience to make the world a better place in a sustainable, profitable way?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Enjoying movie night with my sons, or out with friends to dinner, concerts, plays, movies, sporting events, etc.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
