I always buy something new when I go to the grocery store. The store near me is not at all exotic, but I've been doing it for nearly four years and still haven't come close to running out of new things to try. Newness and adventure are everywhere around you but you might not find them if you're not really looking.

I spend a lot of time laughing at my own jokes. I want you to be funny, too. I'll find romantic places to take you, and then I'll put the moves on you. If I like you, I will give you lengthy, deep massages, frequently. And I'll cook for you, but then I'll make you do the dishes. I will go to art openings or shows or plays or parks or restaurants or sporting events with you. We'll occasionally escape into the wilderness. I'll bring out the best in you, you'll bring out the best in me. We'll have fun together. So much fun.

I used to sell apartments in Manhattan. Now, I am a special-ed teacher at a Spanish-speaking high school. My job requires that I believe in other people and encourage them in every way. Day by day I am cleansing myself of the nightmare of my former career in sales.

Just got back from backpacking solo across Scandinavia. It involved Viking relics, fjords, volcanic hot springs, "The Scream," lingon berries, Swedish meatballs, geysers, herring, licorice, liquor that tasted like licorice, and gawking at Helsinki street fashion.

I learned Spanish in school and perfected it through reading and traveling. I learned Portuguese from my Brazilian family. I look for opportunities to use both. I go to the library a lot. Like many people, I plan to visit every continent before my death, and so far, I'm way ahead of schedule, unless I'm about to die and don't know it yet. Just about all of my plans are things I'd like to achieve before my death. My post-death plans are still pretty hazy right now.

Cooking with lots of garlic, sarcasm, geography, trivia, color-coding, knowing the right song for the right occasion, stepping outside my comfort zone, paying with exact change, and making mixtapes.

My deep voice, shaved head, and height. Most days I have blue eyes but some days they are green or grey.

I read a lot of modern and cult classics, plus the occasional 19th century one (especially if it's Russian.)

Movies: French New Wave one day, Goonies the next day... Mean Streets is my favorite. I also really like Say Anything.
I do not own a television. Just kidding, I totally do.

Music - 1930s blues, 1940s country, 1950s jazz, 1960s soul, 1970s reggae, 1980s new wave, 1990s hip-hop, 2000s electronic. But most of all rock - metal, punk, post-punk, indie, britpop, classic, and all the sub-genres of those sub-genres. Let's swap recommendations.

I've only been arrested once, when I was 15, for stealing a canoe. I even had to hire a lawyer and go to court. I'm reformed now and have no criminal record.
