I am an absorber, a night owl, and a generator.

My Self-Summary

I am laughing right now...and I am by myself. Ha! I am a big ball of interests. I guess it's time to kick up some dust and pick out some of my more edifying characteristics. My partial list:

*Let me preface this by saying that I am typically against air-guitar (or air-any instrument, for that matter), but a person who can rock an air-guitar/drum set with passion and an irreverence for all social boundaries is OK in my book. Inspiring.

*I was a Health and Counseling major in undergrad in Boston and I still find all things Psychological and brain-based fascinating.

*After undergrad I fell into a clinical research job at an amazing medical school and spent the next 2 years hanging out with Geriatrics, who, by the way, are the most interesting people to work with. I have a few stories of old people antics, for sure. I love when I can talk to older people.

*I did a post-bacc med program after that and met a lot of people who made me smile. I am sucker for independent thinkers. Cambridge, MA is full of them.

*I spent some time in Detroit with my indie rocker older brother, where I soaked up as much of the Detroit indie scene as possible.

*My music tastes are a bit more mellow. I love folk music, classical, indie rock and indie pop, oldies, jazz, classic rock, and random songs.

*I am usually pretty casual in dress, but I like to think that I clean up well. Actually, I was told that once and I, quite honestly, felt a little offended. Now look at me describing myself that way. I suppose I can absorb bad influences just as easily as good ones. Ha.

*I paint as often as possible. I use acrylics. I use lots of color. I love painting people. I also make as many things as I can. Things that are made are wonderful. I guess that I am a Do-It-Yourselfer. Once I re-did the entire flooring in an apartment I was in. I have made, as well as reupholstered, furniture too.

*I have two puppies named Cowboy and Rico. They are dachshunds and Cowboy (real name Cracker Jack Cowboy-I did not name him!) is actually Rico's daddy. They are very sweet and loving but can be quite obstinate as well. I just moved here by plane so I have to go pick them up and bring them here very soon.

What I’m doing with my life

That is a loaded question. I do not know. I moved here with a Cardiology research job lined up and then was told that there was no longer enough money to have me on board. Hmmm. Jerks. I moved here anyway and then am going to start a bartending gig soon.

I plan on going to medical school in a few years.

I’m really good at

catching people's quirky and witty humor.

The first things people usually notice about me

my calm demeanor

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: brain or psych-based books, non-fiction. I usually have a few fiction books in rotation but rarely finish them (and it doesn't bother me)

Movies: I love documentaries. A Blockbuster can pique my interest here and there too.

Music: Folk, Indie, Oldies, Classic Rock

Food: I am a vegetarian. I love most food.

The six things I could never do without

1. The Internet
2. Art (or something to create it)
3. Music (or something to create it)
4. Family
5. Best Friends
6. My babies (the dogs, Rico and Cowboy)

I spend a lot of time thinking about

connecting with people, what happened to my professional life, germs, where my life is going in general...

On a typical Friday night I am

I would love to be at a dive bar having a few drinks with great company, but lately I have been at home watching TV online. My favorite shows that can always keep my attention are: Arrested Development, 30 Rock, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Pushing Daisies, Glee, etc.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

My longest relationship was 3 years and it has been about a year since it ended.

You should message me if

your wit could easily slice a tomato on a late-night infomercial...you can pat your head and rub your stomach at the same time...you can pull a quarter out of my ear (one that I never knew was there!!)...you are more of an acceptor than one who judges...you are funny...you are empathetic and the type of person who cares about people in their lives...you are mature...you are an explorer...you are genuinely nice...you rock a sweet air-guitar to either Journey or Cat Stevens ;)
