My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
It would almost be easier to have someone else write this for me. OK. Summary:
I have a degree in math and will be teaching geometry and trig at a private school this coming school year. I'm not sure "nerd" would describe me but I do tend to read a lot and love to draw and paint. I don't know if this really indicates much about me, but in case it matters to anyone, my personality type is INFP. The introverted part is definitely true but I certainly like the company of others and especially enjoy one on one conversations - I just need to unwind by myself sometimes. I should probably mention that I don't drink or use drugs. It's not a problem if you drink a little, but we won't work out if you're into drugs. I'm fairly intelligent and may run off to get a PhD if they'll let me. But I won't go far. ODU, perhaps. I'm easy going, low key, and obviously need a hair cut. And yes, I took the pictures myself - I know some people don't like that. I'll try to have a friend take real pictures when I get a chance.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Right now I'm preparing to teach math to a bunch of geometry and trig. I haven't taught either of these courses before so it's actually turning out to be pretty time consuming. Also I am looking at graduate programs right now - some sort of science or math would appeal to me.
As for my personal life: it's pretty boring right now, which is driving me crazy. I read, work, exercise, and occasionally binge on Netflix. I'm hoping to meet some interesting people through OKCupid and eventually find a long term relationship.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Drawing and painting - wish I'd gone to art school.
Math and physics. Yeah I know, pretty boring.
Long conversations (coffee may be required).
I also seem to have an unusual gift for sarcasm, which I try to keep under control. Nothing mean, just playful sarcasm.
Oddly enough I also seem to be pretty good at teaching eighth graders once I've gotten to know them. High school should be interesting.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I tend to read mostly fantasy and sci-fi, but books like The Thornbirds and Jack London's Seawolf are great. I loved the Wheel of Time and am waiting for George R. R. Martin to come out with his next book. I have shelves of sci-fi books by authors most people have never heard of.
As for movies, I watch a pretty large variety. Of course fantasy and sci-fi, but really anything well written with good actors. Some of my favorites: Remains of the Day, Big Trouble in Little China, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, The Godfather, Weird Science, Silence of the Lambs.
Some of my favorite shows: House of Cards, Orange is the New Black, House, Walking Dead, Dexter, and (don't laugh) Malcolm in the Middle.
I'll listen to almost anything, though country and rap are my least favorite. Some of my favorite bands: Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, U2, Pearl Jam, Jethro Tull. I kind of love all the one hit wonders from the 80s and early 90s.
Food: I'm pretty good about trying new things though I tend to stay away from super spicy stuff.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Books, coffee, art supplies, Netflix (I'm addicted), music from YouTube, and obviously friends.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How in the hell minds, society, football, political drama, reality TV, and everything else associated with "Social Reality" can possibly come from lots of tiny particles bouncing off of each other and interacting in an insanely complex fashion. It's weird.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
At home recovering from a workweek or, hopefully, hanging out with friends. I'd like to get out more.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 28–42
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
Message me if you liked anything in my profile and are nice, smart, and not too crazy. Neurotic I can deal with, totally nuts not so much. I have baggage and I assume most single people my age have some baggage, so I can handle most things if you are up front about it (I mean after a while - I'm certainly not asking for all your deep dark secrets when we first meet). It is no problem if you have kids, but I'd like to not be a part of any serious family drama involving their fathers.
I am most interested in meeting new people and dating until I find the person I'd like to spend the rest of my life with. If that is something you want, definitely message me.
