I am intelligent, empathetic, and unexpectedly funny.
My Self-Summary
In this self summary I've tried over-hyped self promotion, I've
tried brooding melodrama, I've tried energetic and ebullient, but
it always attracted people with the wrong idea about me so it's
time for boring old honesty.
My name is Christo. I grew up just outside D.C. in College Park MD.
I went to UMD and studied art studio and digital media. I moved
with a couple friends from college to Phoenix after graduating. I
couldn't stand Phoenix so I moved to Austin for my career. I've
spent most of my time working so I haven't spent much time
exploring Austin, but I am slowly taking it in through osmosis. I
came to OKC because I am shy when it comes to approaching women. I
hope that I can just lay all my cards on the table and be straight
about who I am and what I'm looking for.
A little about who I am...
I am the son of two lawyers. I have two younger sisters. I was born
with allergies to fur and ADHD with an LD (dysgraphia). I was
raised Quaker but I'm not religious anymore. I went to small
schools through high school, there were 10 people in my graduating
class. I then went to a huge university. I decided that I wanted to
make video games as a career. Now I'm in Austin working on a career
in game design.
You want to know the more ethereal side of me? There are people who
believe that your personality is derived from the sum of your
experiences. These people will run around the world to find some
truth about themselves. I am not one of these people, I believe the
opposite. I believe that introspection is a necessity to realizing
any worthwhile truth about yourself. That more can be learned by
the study of but one of your own actions, than by the study of all
the works of the poets and historians. But I know too, that my
navel gazing has left me blind to much of the uniqueness in the
world.
And if all of this has given you the idea that I am boring, I can
assure with full confidence that I am not. I am funny when the mood
allows and can keep a smile on your face all day long. But I am
also not a flibbertigibbet, I can hold my own in a conversation on
nearly all topics.
A little about what I’m looking for…
I am looking for a girlfriend, emphasis on friend. I want to find
someone I want to talk to about everything that’s going on. Someone
who I want to spend my free time with. Someone who will make me go
out and have fun, even when I wasn’t planning on it. Someone who I
can drag with me when I need to get out of my apartment. Someone I
can talk to about the newest scientific discoveries, political
movements, or internet memes. If we are good friends then all
that’s left is the chemistry.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a workaholic, I work all the time. So it's a good thing my job
is QA Tester for video games. That's right I play video games for a
living. I want to be a game designer, but it's easier to be a
Hollywood director than a Lead Game Designer, so it's going to be a
while before I get to that point in my career.
As for what I've worked on:
The Sims (gag),
Call of Duty 4 (this time it's
modern so its differ... YAWN),
Guitar Hero Aerosmith (I would Walk This Way every
day), and
Puzzle Quest Galactrix (It's like
The Last
Starfighter for
bejeweled). I just finished nearly a
year of rocking out with
Guitar Hero World Tour
for eight hours a day.
Other than work I'm slowly getting to know Austin. I've only lived
here for a little over three years so there's still a lot to
experience.
I’m really good at
Modesty.
The first things people usually notice about me
My stone face. I have gotten pretty good at hiding how I'm feeling,
good for telling jokes, bad for flirting. On the other hand after I
get comfortable with you I become one of the most boisterous and
engaging people you are ever likely to meet.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Music:
TMBG,
Gnarls
Barkley,
Pet
Shop Boys,
Timbaland,
Iris,
Cosmicity. In general I like Rock,
Synthpop and
Techno, some R&B, smatterings of
D.C. GoGo, and Pandora.com for
everything else.
Books: Bittorrent + iPod = 'Reading' lots of books. Right now it's
The Accent
of Money, by
Niall Ferguson. What? I'm an
socioeconomic nerd.
TV:
Chuck,
Wonderfalls (old show),
jPod (old Canadian
show), and
MST3K, or
does that count as...
Movies: I took
film
in college and worked at movie theaters and video stores for most
of my life, asking for my favorite movie is not a fair question to
ask me. It is a fun question to ask me. try it sometime.
Food:
Sushi &
Sashimi,
Pizza,
Ethiopian,
Tofu (not the milky white block kind), and
Kerby Lane's
Sweet Potato Fries.
Special Mention:
This American Life, I have
never heard an episode that wasn't compelling.
The six things I could never do without
My Ipod - It's how I get my reading done.
My computer - It's how I get my work done.
The Internet - It's how I get nothing done.
I know that's only three. Don't let it bother you.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What it would really be like to be god. What kind of god would I
be? What could I do to shape the world to the advantage and
enjoyment of all people? How much free will could I allow while
protecting the world from unfettered avarice.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
The movie Contact made me cry.
You should message me if
You should message me if you want to meet.
...or...
You should message me if Ive writen somthing incredably stupid in
my profille that you cant leave un-corected.
...or...
You should message me if you can't think of a good reason not to.
