My Self-Summary

These little promotional essays can be fun, but they don't tell you anything really important in getting to know me. Getting acquainted with another person requires communication and time and exploration. Talking and bantering is a lot more fun than reading these little boxes that might tell you, for example, that I enjoy walks in the woods and travel, but also evenings snuggling by the fire watching movies (which seem to be common affinities in these descriptions), or that I am a sound tech at The Ark and work out at the Y. Yes, I'm single. No, I'm not a game player (whatever that is, I don't think I am one). I'm not abusive; in fact, I think folks would tell you I'm rather a nice guy. Laughter is fun. You are probably fun. But I won't know unless we communicate. So...let's give that a go, eh?

What I’m doing with my life

Reorienting to being an empty-nester; working on figuring out what I want to be when I grow up; enjoying volunteering for music events (not as a musician, I hasten to add); wishing I had more of a head for home decorating.

I’m really good at

Writing and editing; seeing the multiple sides of an issue; spelling; travel and map-reading; finding humor in things.

The six things I could never do without

This is a tough one. Obviously the first four would be earth, air, sunlight, and water, with I suppose spirit and sleep being the other two. But that's too darn easy, and isn't the point of this question, I don't think. I *could* do without almost all else (OK...perhaps not food...), but 6 things I value? OK. Let's think. (1) Friends and companions. (2) My iPod, or at least the music therein. (3) A core set of books. (4) The urge to explore. (5) A sense of humor. (6) You.

On a typical Friday night I am

often winding down from a week of work, sometimes at The Ark, sometimes on the road to somewhere, sometimes just chillin' at home bantering with folks on Internet chat on my Macbook or catching up on newspapers and magazines. Depending on my schedule, sometimes my evening begins with a workout at the Y.
