Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hey, I’m a big 30-something guy looking for a friend with
I’m a professional geek and I enjoy making stuff, so knitting’s
become a big thing lately and I’m trying out sewing lessons. I’m a
recovering gamer who still dabbles at it and I have a collection of
hockey jerseys chosen more for their graphic insanity than for any
particular allegiance to the game. I like pubs, cooking, live
music, the funk, puns, men who can talk, the colour orange, Adult
Swim cartoons and ginger ice cream with hot fudge sauce.
I’m not a lonely sort and I have solid friendships but I’ve been
shy with my heart so I’m looking for someone willing to start out a
little slow. I’m committed to this, though, and not out to play
games. My hope is to find a real friendship first, where we’re
comfortable expressing ourselves and we can create lots of amazing
One last note, I’m a big guy, there’s no denying it and if you’re
big, too? Please don’t be shy, I’m after connection, not
perfection, okay? Kind, sweet, and, yes, sensitive guys who like to
talk rock my world (bonus points if you’ve got ginger icecream).
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Geeking for a living, and getting through the day. The rest of the
time? Trying to grow, explore, connect, maybe stumble towards
happiness and hope I trip over interesting stuff on the way.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Knitting like a boss. Yeah, I talk about it a lot, but, it lets me
play with the colours! Seriously, it's kinda powerful to just, play
and I'll be honest, dammit, I didn't realize how much I like pink,
and purple, and green and red and more pink and, yeah. Also, I make
a mean split pea soup.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Being a big guy, with a quiet little voice.

Spies, sci-fi and the odd bit of beheading. That is, scifi (William
Gibson, Frank Herbert, Iain M. Banks) and spies (John le Carre, and
of course, 007). I'm learning to dig Game of Thrones, though I'm a
sucker for the 'toons: Sealab 2021, Archer, Bob's Burgers. Pick a
flick and it's gotta be Blade Runner, though the recent Tinker
Tailor Soldier Spy was pretty sweet. Schlocky sci-fi is a guilty
pleasure, as all flavours of Star Trek. Tunes are mostly falling
along a Funk-Electro axis lately, lots of Galactic, Poets of
Rhythm, Yppah, Daft Punk, Bonobo, Bowie, Deltron, The Panics,
Harvey Danger, Pretty Lights, with excursions into Post Rock. Not
morally opposed to pop, just me and the radio somehow wound up not
talking to each other much these days.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My yarn, my ipod and a comfy chair, then my friends, my family and
a nice cup of tea (Can I have a ginger snap with the tea, or does
that count as an extra thing?)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What constitutes a 'good' orange, it's a hard colour to get right.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Down the pub with my people, it's a regular happening.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm a bit of a cuddlesponge, fuzzy guys are really hot and I've got
a list of songs that make me cry.
