My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Name's Robert. Or Rob. Or maybe even Roberto. But definitely not Bob, or Robby, or Bobert.

I'm a writer, filmmaker, and musician whose life is dedicated to creating art in one form or another. My days are spent writing, enjoying craft coffees and beers, cooking tasty meals, playing guitar, listening to jazz, and watching the Colorado Avalanche kick some ass. I've also been known to quote Anchorman way too much, if there is such a thing.

Also, I'm on a couple of quests right now. The first one is to find the best burger in Denver. I think that I've found it, but I can never be sure. The second is to make groovy reggae versions of random folk songs (you should hear my rendition of House of the Rising Sun). The third is to grow a kick-ass beard. The last, and most important, is to get healthy again after a few really shitty years. I'm well on my way.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm doing a whole lot of things with my life these days, so hold on to your hats while I describe all of them in more detail than s

First and foremost, I write for one of the largest filmmaking websites on the entire interwebs (and I get paid in honest-to-god money). It's extremely challenging and rewarding work, and if I play my cards right, it could very well be a career in the making.

I've also started writing for a startup print publication that's all about the art and culture of Denver. The first issue hit the shelves in January, so now I can brag about being published in print. I'm just glad print media isn't a dying medium or anything like that.

After a year-long hiatus from school, I'm heading back this fall to study journalism and media production. I'm somewhat excited to be studying something that I find interesting, but more than anything, I just want to be done with my degree so that I can move onto my life's goal of maybe one day paying off my loans.

Lastly, I make films. I'm infatuated with naturalistic cinematography and with making subtle character-driven dramas. The human condition is endlessly fascinating to me, and I believe that film is one of the best ways to explore that topic. If you feel so inclined, here's a link to my most recent cinematography reel. It's not great, but I kinda like it.

I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Singing badly while playing the guitar really well. Driving a manual transmission. Cooking breakfast. Straight razor shaving, fountain pen writing, and pocket watch checking. Writing real good-like. Making movies. Watching movies and simultaneously snuggling. Napping. Making a killer cup of coffee. Using curse words in creative new ways. I'm a pioneer in that regard.

Apparently I'm also good at falling off of mountains. Yeah, that actually happened two summers ago. It fucked me up pretty badly. But if you think I had it bad, you should see the mountain.

Oh, I'm also the best procrastinator in the entire world. You probably think that you can out-procrastinate me, but science has proven that it's impossible to do so. And you can't argue with science because it's, well... science.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Maybe somebody will tell me one day so that I can finally fill out this piece of my profile.

Help your potential matches find common interests.
I love an absurd amount of things in all of these categories. So I'm just going to work in broad strokes here and throw out a few favorites so that you can get an idea of my taste (which is phenomenal, by the way).

Take Shelter, The Elephant Man, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Mr. Nobody, A Serious Man, the entire Criterion Collection, Jiro Dreams of Sushi

TV Shows:
Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Louie, Twin Peaks, Archer, Freaks and Geeks, How I Met Your Mother, Boardwalk Empire, Shameless, Wilfred. Also, Ron Swanson is my hero.

Books:
On The Road, Cannery Row, The Sound and the Fury, Siddhartha, One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest, Mr. Vertigo, The Wind Up Bird Chronicle, Most anything by Hemingway or Vonnegut. Also, Haruki Murakami and Cormac McCarthy are two contemporary favorites.

Food:
No, I don't like food. Not even a little bit. Especially not steak. Or bacon. Or steak wrapped in bacon. Gross...
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My Guitar(s)
Cameras
The Written Word
Craft-Roasted Coffees (perhaps topped off with some Irish Cream)
Jazz
My Cats - or just cats in general.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
-Aesthetics.
-The social and cultural functions of art.
-Jazz theory.
-How Breaking Bad is going to end (this one's outdated now).
-Why the Republican party is hellbent on preventing social progress of any kind.
-How goddam awesome the future is going to be.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Probably working. If not, I'm likely at a jazz club or a local movie theater. Or laying in bed and binging on Netflix shows. Or sleeping. Sleep is really great.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
This site has given me nothing but headaches since I joined, yet for some reason, I persist. Maybe it's because I'm a hopeless romantic and I can't help but believe that there's someone on here for me. Or maybe I just have too much free time on my hands. We'll say it's the first one, though.

Also, I've never gotten a car-wash. My car is one of the few that actually gets cleaner when it rains.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
[First of all, please do message me. I'm not even slightly ashamed to admit that I love it when I get messages on here.]

You play an instrument and want to jam. Bonus points if you're a jazz cat.

If you've got some solid recommendations for craft beers and coffees I've never tried.

You have a lead on where I can get the best burger in town (and no, it's not at the Cherry Cricket, but thanks for asking).

You would never get sick of watching movies (good ones, at least) and cuddling. I am the undisputed king of that shit.

You want to go see an indie flick in the coolest old theater in Denver. More bonus points if you know which theater I'm referring to.

You've got a witty and dry, yet simultaneously dirty, sense of humor, and sarcasm is one of the languages which you speak fluently.

You know how to roast coffee and want to teach me.

If you want to get all dressed up and go sit in a smoky jazz club while drinking some expensive single-malt scotch.

You've never taken a duck-face selfie. And I mean NEVER. Just like all of those anti-meth commercials, "Not even once."

If you foolishly think that you can beat me at pool.
