Also, I hate these things. But here goes.

I'm fairly unusual, and a bit of a contradiction in a lot of ways. My profession and my hobbies are nearly on different ends of the spectrum. But, I'm creative, with more interests and hobbies than I can devote myself to in a life time, who wants to do it all. I am also a bit of an anachronism in that I still believe chivalry is alive, just sleeping. So be warned, I do open doors for women.

As far as specific interests go, I'll throw out a few - martial arts, working out, kayaking, outdoors, music (all kinds, minus rap, country, and pop), concerts, cooking, and so on.

Right now, I am working as a Computer Engineer, writing software for avionics equipment. That's my day job, outside of that, I usually pretty active. I attend martial arts three times per week, and the nights I'm not at the dojo, I'm at the gym working out. Weekends, if it's warm enough, I'm out kayaking at the lake across the road from my apartment. If it's too cold, I'm out at the gym instead. Weekend nights, if I'm not out with coworkers or friends, I'm at home cooking and preparing to relax and to recover, to do it all over again the next week.

Solving problems. Very rarely is there a problem I can't solve, if there is a solution. To those more pesky, personal problems, I'm great at offering advice, or just plain being there to listen (and lend a shoulder if it's needed.)

Probably the "tall, dark, and handsome" package deal thing. Past that, probably either my eyes, which like to shift between honey brown to hazel green, or the quality of my personality.

Favorite book series is without a doubt, George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" series. Past Martin, favorite authors include David Brin, Steven Brust, Tolkien, Rowling, Stephanie Meyer, and a lot more.

Music, my tastes tend to run along the alternative/indie rock genre. Muse, Daft Punk, Death Cab for Cutie, Killers, Ludo, Fallout Boy, Iron and Wine, Nightwish, Finger 11, and so on. But I also enjoy jazz, classical, and musicals. (Les Miserables is among my favorites.)

Movies, top contender is "The Princess Bride". If you don't like that movie, might as well move along to the next profile. I'm also a huge Miyazaki fan, all of his works have been really good. Otherwise, I'm not too picky on movies.

Food, just about anything really. I generally cook for myself, and I'm becoming pretty good at it, branching out into custom fusion dishes. As far as restaurants go, I'm not too particular - but there is a special place in my heart for sushi, with a particular weakness for Unagi.
