My self-summary
I’m a native New York City girl tempered with a just of touch of Midwestern sensibility having lived in Chicago for close to a decade - practical and realistic yet not afraid to dream, a little quirky but endearingly so (at least that is what my friends say). In "a former life" I wrote and performed stand-up comedy.

Right and left brainer (maybe a little more left brain than right brain – but just a little).

I’m a loyal friend, usually a good listener, am reasonably health conscious (although I do have my snack attacks and occasional chocolate cravings) and am pretty fit. I enjoy ethnic dining, live bands (ranging from pop, punk, alternative to jazz and more), bodybuilding, mid-century design, an occasional poetry slam, a good cup of tea, an occasional cup of "girlie" coffee (yes, the flavored ones men will not admit to wanting to try), museums, a pick up game of volleyball and a whole lot more.

What do I seek? World peace would be nice but I shall not digress. Integrity, intelligence, kindness and humor -- these are a few of my favorite things (to rewrite a lyric from the Sound of Music -- feel free to hum along). A great smile, a handsome face, soulful eyes, nice lats, and firm glutes are nice to look at (c’mon let me be honest). However, I am more concerned with your values, goals, ambitions, and how you treat others. Honesty, intelligence, respect, emotional availability - these are qualities I seek in both my friends and the men I am involved with.

I appreciate the unusual man who is authentic, who by nature would more admit his fears than try to cover them up. Moreover, I admire a man who has a sense of purpose in his life, who really thinks about and acts upon how he can improve his friendships and his community.
What I’m doing with my life
Taking "the road less traveled", working with and advising start-ups, and taking a few minutes each day to reflect and being thankful for the little things many of us take for granted.

That and pumping iron. I've been debating whether to enter a figure competition but I love my carbs just a little too much.

I've also been contemplating world domination but have to put that on the back burner for the time being.
I’m really good at
creating order out of chaos, cutting through b.s., and figuring out how to navigate through mass transit systems.
The first things people usually notice about me
are my fashionable footwear, muscles, and high energy level (especially if they come across me while I'm drinking coffee).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Theodore Dreiser is one of my favorite authors, The Alchemist is one of my favorite (if not my favorite) books, and Ben and Jerry are two of my favorite men (but in moderation of course). Popcorn is one of my favorite snacks, and pretty much any ethnic cuisine made with love makes me a happy camper. Oops, I almost forgot to mention that This is Spinal Tap is one of my favorite movies (the soundtrack alone is fan-freaking-tastic). Mad Men garnered my attention... Too many favorites to mention... So little space...
The six things I could never do without
A toothbrush
My wit
Indoor plumbing (although I have gone without it when I have gone camping albeit much to my discontent)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
where do all those socks that get lost in the dryer go? Why do people like to wear thong underwear? (Sorry, to me, it feels like having a perpetual wedgie.) How do we create a better, more egalitarian world? Why do so many people confuse your and you're? And last but definitely not least meeting Mr. Right (for me).
On a typical Friday night I am
working on my latest project, catching up with friends, unwinding by watching a DVD, or perfecting my fake British accent (nah, I only do that every other Friday).
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Years ago I travelled from NYC to Wisconsin in search of a special cheese only to find out that it was made in Upstate New York and was sold at Macy's Cellar.

(While I can appreciate the application of the law of averages, please note that obvious "canned" messages are unlikely to get a response back. Also note that while I look much younger than my years I am generally not inclined to respond back to men under the age of 35.)
