I am Nerdy, Nice, and look! a bunny (\_/).
My Self-Summary
I suck at profiles. In order to fully convey my dorkiness I'd have
to post some sort of video, or meet you in person... But I'm
getting ahead of myself...
Hi! My name's Mark. I've spent alot of time
traveling, -Japan, Australia, Brunei,
Korea, Saipan- but now I'm back in California. Going to school and
fixing dilapidated medical equipment, in a seedy lab, in North
Hollywood... It's more fun than I make it sound though. I get to
work body AND brain. The former from moving heavy, obsolete
equipment around the store room, and the latter from
troubleshooting wiring and electromechanical problems.
I guess, that's it in a nutshell... I'm nice, and that tends to
keep all the interesting people at bay. Maybe I'll take a couple
mean pills whenever scientists get around to inventing them, but,
knowing my luck, nice will become "cool" the minute they kick in :P
What I’m doing with my life
Right now just workin' in the lab. Taking stuff apart and putting
it back together until it works or starts to do something more
interesting...
I eventually want to go into robotics. I'm going to wait until my
folks are secure in their retirement boat though, as the job I have
now is pretty steady. Yep. Not time to make waves yet, but
ooOOOoohh someday..
I've recently gotten addicted to
parkour. It's fun, good for you, and the
perfect weapon to have in your arsenal should zombies spontaneously
attack the earth.
I’m really good at
Making people laugh, usually at my own expense.
Rhythm and percussion....
Fixing broken stuff...
Sprinting/Track....
The first things people usually notice about me
Holy smokes! It's a negro!
Lol. No, just kidding... Well, I hope. Haven't the foggiest really.
I mean, I know what I'm self-conscious about, but I don't think
that's the same thing...
I've gotten more than a few comments on my voice though. This one
time I was at a club in Roppongi and a woman stopped me mid
conversation to say, "You so weird! How-come-you-no-speak hip hop
english??" I wanted to be mad, but it was kind of cute.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
'Jitter Bug Perfume'. Tom Robbins is my moody, Seattle God. And any
paper he puts a pen to is instant grail. I recently found a stash
of my Dad's old Louise Lamour books and I've been thumbing through
those. Hmm.. Westerns.. Who knew??
Umm.. It's tough to answer the music question without coming off
like a snob/elitist. People tend to fire off a slew of bandnames as
if the lyrical pursuits of other people make THEM more unique
through proxy. But, then again, what medium do people NOT do that
with? In a way we all define ourselves through the actions of other
people... Wait.. I lost my train of thought .......
Anyway, here's some of my favorite bands:
AC/DC, Radiohead, N.E.R.D., Dangerdoom,
The Ink Spots, Anything with Maynard (This includes Green Jelly and
A perfect circle) Hendrix,
Led Zeppelin,
The Zombies, Keane, The
Ravenettes,
A Tribe Called Quest,
Basically anything from the 40's to present.... Except hardcore rap
and country.
Movies: Quigley Down Under, Saving Silverman,
The Princess Bride
The six things I could never do without
Family, Friends,
Parkour, Love, Orange Chicken, and the
number six.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to mathematically convert the horse power of a car into gerbil
power... The merits of a see-through toaster... Whether or not the
speed of light and the speed of dark are the same thing... What
would happen if you turned on a flashlight while moving at the
speed of light... What direction a fire burns in space (in a space
shuttle... Could be tricky...)... Which arm rest is supposed to be
mine in a theater... Why congress isn't the opposite of progress...
Whether I'd be suspended in mid air if I dug a hole to the center
of the earth... Why a radio doesn't play in a higher pitch when you
put it in a room full of helium... Why most profiles seem to break
down into a series of horizontal lists... Meh, the usual.
On a typical Friday night I am
Engaging in shenanigans at the white lotus gym in Northridge.
Brushing up on my
math and electrical theory. Traceuring it
up. Or performing random experiments I see on youtube.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else's
opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation.."
