I am recently retired and relocated. I moved here to be close to
family. After a bit of time I realized that I missed adult company
especially a nice guy in my life. The man I would like to meet here
is kind, considerate of others. Still has goals and dreams.
Believes he's not too old or too smart to learn something new.
Someone who enjoys the journey as much as the destination. Laughing
is a daily exercise. He considers that striving for good personal
Health is the best prescription for a good life.
What I’m doing with my life
I am spending my time taking care of myself and helping others to
do the same. I help my family as well as strangers through care
taking. As a career RN , I spent a good portion of my life serving
and caring for others. I do volunteer work now and help care for my
grandchildren. I guess because of my profession I continually
challenge myself to be interested in healthcare And I want to be
healthier and fitter than I was while actively working. I now have
time to explore good books, take some trips that I enjoy , engage
in activities that I find interesting and I am working on
developing my creative side .
I’m really good at
Teaching ,patience ,compassion and storytelling ( I kissed the
Blarney Stone) I was a coach for a number of years and I consider
myself to be a good cheerleader. I have a strongly developed
insight into people and events which I use frequently to guide
The first things people usually notice about me
My smile , it's magical ...even if you don't feel like it you will
smile too! When I was in first grade a teacher saw me smiling and
knicknamed me "Mary Sunshine" because anytime she saw me I was
smiling I happened to be facing sunlight, later I was diagnosed
with astigmatism (squinting) and started wearing eyeglasses but the
smiling was a permanent fixture by then, lol. PS People do notice I
have a fairly developed sense of humor .
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I'd love to say Hannibal Crossing The Alps from a Latin Class but I
would be telling a tall tale. On introspection I came up with
several... A Tale of Two Cities which I've read many times. Diary
of Ann Frank again multiple times, Les Miserables, Count of Monte
Cristo ,Arrowsmith pretty much stories about injustice and
society's failings. And being a member of a book club,I get to read
a lot of the "Best Sellers". I love seeing movies that originate in
foreign cities as I consider it as much a travelogue as a storyI
enjoy both domestic and foreign films equally. I also enjoy action
and drama films as well. Travel is a passion for me and there is so
much of this country and the world I still plan on seeing. As for
food if it's spicy I probably like it. I enjoy all types of music
popular to classic , and jazz too.
The six things I could never do without
Air Water Food Family God Community. Sort of Maslows hierarchy.....
not necessarily in that order at any one time.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Gratitude. Being grateful for all that I've been blessed with.
Enjoying the present moment and being in awe of seeing my
grandchildren growing and flourishing before my eyes.
On a typical Friday night I am
It's the end of a usually busy week ! It's time to chill... so I am
at a movie, driving to visit friends or on a trip to????
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Is too private for a public forum such as this....:-)
If you get to know me well ...you'll find out for sure.
You should message me if
You are seeking a longterm relationship with someone who thinks the
best time is now.... A woman who is
positive,caring,loving,compassionate, fun and funny,adventurous,
health oriented and most of all when she gets to know and love you
thinks..... you are the best thing to come along since sliced
bread! And let's you know it each and every day. A cliche but a
good one nevertheless!
