My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Let's get something to eat!

I'm back in Montreal after about six years on the West Coast and while there are many things I will miss about BC, the food is not one of them. Always happy to spend a night out exploring Montreal's vast collection of restaurants. Only thing that can make it better is someone to go with, food always tastes better when it's shared with friends. Plus you get some weird looks when you order a large meal alone in a restaurant, especially brunch.

I was on this site for a while in BC and met some awesome people, but so far nothing romantic and long term has come out of it. So I keep coming back, hoping to meet some new friends, or ideally a romantic partner.

As my photos and user-name hint, I really enjoy rock climbing. At the moment I spend a lot of time indoors at the gym Allez Up, though I'm hoping to get some outdoor climbing in before the weather gets too cold. If you're into rock climbing, awesome! Always good to have someone to climb with. If you're not, fair enough, but I do try to make it out to the gym at least a couple of times a week.

I'm pretty active, this summer I took up P90X and really enjoyed it, even managed to lose the 20 lbs I gained in grad school. :)

What am I looking for? Someone who enjoys spending the occasional weekend outside exploring the island, but is just as happy watching the latest Doctor Who or Game of Thrones episode at home curled up on the couch with a bowl of popcorn. (Warning I've had the opening credit music from GoT stuck in my head for nearly four years so you may catch me humming it under my breath at times). I am most attracted to people who are passionate about what they do, be it art, electrical engineering, teaching, or any other career.

Regardless of whether or not we connect on this site I hope you catch a good fish of your own.

What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I recently left a PhD in theoretical physics and decided to move back to Montreal. I am currently volunteering in a science outreach program, while hoping to turn it into a real career. I love teaching and getting others excited about physics. So I'm pursuing a few projects aimed at getting young people interested in physics and getting the tax paying public excited about funding research into the building blocks of the universe. Basically I want to be Neil Degrasse Tyson... but Canadian. One of my favourite side projects is a YouTube channel I run, if you want a link just message me and I can send it to you.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Quoting TV? Seriously, I have a more comprehensive collection of Sci-fi, fantasy, and crime drama shows in my head than IMDB has online. I think I'm at least a little funny, I do enjoy making people laugh. Whether it's with or at me?... well I guess you'll have to be the judge of that.

I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My eyes, people accuse me of wearing contacts.

3 of the 5 Song of Ice and Fire Series.
"His Dark Materials" trilogy.
Firefly, Lost Room, Doctor Horrible, Castle, The Almighty Johnsons, Misfits, NBC's Dracula (seriously watch it)
Basically I have a weak spot for crime dramas, sci fi, and fantasy, both written and televised.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
At least one really good friend.
Some kind of side project either a video or something I'm trying to build.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
My next project. At the moment it is building a Tesla coil to zap things with lightning. Next it's a video game that plays with physics.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
At the moment? Probably at the climbing gym, followed by the pub with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
When I was five I thought I was superman. I was very disappointed when I realized that Smallville was in Kansas not Quebec.
