I am upside, down, and inside out.

My Self-Summary

I'm just another clockwork juggler with all the tick-tock-time in the world. When I'm not puttering away in front of my computer or sculpting away at some random art project, I can be found climbing rocks or dancing the night away. I enjoy learning and keeping my mind occupied with things ranging from frivolous to fantastic. Give me a set of 3 balls and I'll entertain myself for hours. Give me a good meal, and you may have a friend for life.

Oh, and fair warning: I can be a bit of a goofball, as I've always felt that everyone needs a reason to question what's up and down.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm currently decaying at a graphic design position, but am working on my application to SCAD-Atlanta. For the time being, I occupy myself with various hobbies, seeking both enjoyment and personal growth in whatever ways I can. That means juggling, reading, art projects, dancing, learning, spending time with friends, etc.

I've also just moved to a new place as of the beginning of February, so I'm in the process of settling in. It's been slow and plagued by bouts of laziness, but it's now less "New Apartment" and more "Welcome Home".

I’m really good at

Not receiving compliments well. No, really. I worry that I come off as rude or egotistical, but they really just make me nervous. Eh heh. Nngh.

The first things people usually notice about me

My glowing dorsal spines and blue atomic fire breath! Wait, no. Probably my smile. I normally smile a lot. Or my juggling, since I've been doing a lot of that lately. Oh, and I can laugh rather loudly, so maybe that would carry first. Bah! I don't know, I never ask.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Authors: George R. R. Martin, David Quammen, Joel Rosenberg, Neal Stephenson, Anne Bishop, Poppy Z. Brite, Gael Baudino, Michelle West, Yukito Kishiro, Robert Kirkman, Alan Moore, Warren Ellis, Mark Millar, Joss Whedon, Neil Gaiman, Robert E. Howard, HP Lovecraft, etc.

Books: A Storm of Swords, The Black Jewel Trilogy, The Watchmen, Invincible, Flight of the Iguanas, Pillars of the Earth, W'itch Fire, Serenity Rose, Gunnm, A Spell for Chameleon, Coraline, The Golden Compass, The Ultimates, Snow Crash, Stardust, Liquor, Diamond Age, Blade of the Immortal, etc.

Movies: Coraline, Dr. Horrible, Nightmare Before Christmas, Sky High, Iron Giant, Fearless, Kung Fu Hustle, Shaolin Soccer, Hellboy, Pan's Labyrinth, Mirror Mask, Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle, Dark Knight, Blazing Saddles, Army of Darkness, The Incredibles, 300, Shall We Dansu, Fight Club, Ghostbusters, The Princess Bride, Love Actually, etc.

Television: I'm not much for actually watching TV, but I really like Good Eats, Iron Chef (Japan & America), Venture Bros, Dr. Who, Heroes, Spaced, The Family Guy, The Daily Show, and the Colbert Report.

Music: Younger Brother, Shpongle, VNV Nation, Pendulum, Carbon-based Lifeforms, Dieselboy, Infected Mushroom, NIN, Tool, BT, Muse, Mozart, Beethoven, Gorillaz, the Violent Femmes, Combichrist, K's Choice, Imoegen Heap, Dir en Grey, etc.

Music Genres: Classical, Drum & Bass, Psytrance, Psydub, Minimal House, Chill, Futurepop, Alternative, Tribal, etc

Food: Seafood, Japanese, Vietnamese, (Weird) Sushi, Thai, Chinese, Italian, most things that don't include blood or specific internal organs.

The six things I could never do without

Friendship, music, art supplies, Meaning, thought, and something to juggle. Lately I've had a habit of juggling everywhere I go; it's a fun and portable hobby, and entirely compatible with nearly everything else I do.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

The hidden meaning and symbolism behind what happens in our lives. The things that tie us together, in brief moments of coincidence and clarity. And random things, like how many zombie koala would it take to defeat the Cloverfield monster? In general, I have trouble zoning out, so the act of 'not thinking' isn't an option.

On a typical Friday night I am

Out dancing with friends or possible working on some random art project.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm not comfortable dancing without a hat or mask on. And if neither of those are available, I always dance with my eyes closed. Fortunately, I don't often bump into people while moving to the beat.

You should message me if

You're an interestingly odd person who'd like to chat. And you don't plan to eat my brains. Because I happen to like them where they are.
