First thing you must know is that I am polyamorous. Secondly, though I am bi, I lean mostly toward hetero. My interests include bicycling, hang gliding, skiing of all types and hiking. Due to a knee injury I do little mountain climbing anymore.

I’m a country boy who was moved to the city. While I love the city for its cultural and social amenities, my heart lives in the country where nights can be dark, except for the stars and moon and quiet, except for the frogs, birds and crickets.

1. I am the Faerie Godfather (vice president) of Polycamp. Please check out the website www.polycamp.org. It is a “family friendly” weekend for polyamorous families and singles. We do, however, encourage people of any sexual identity that are curious about polyamory to attend for a day or the whole weekend. Polycamp 2012 is being held August 24 to the 27th at Millersylivania State Park in Western Washington.

2. I am giving talks and writing about line-family (or line-marriage if you are into Heinlein). A line-family is a family that does not end. As the family members age and die, new younger members are added. Family businesses, property and investments are never dissapated by wills. This is how rich, powerful families like the Bushes and Mullenburghs stay rich and powerful.

Movies: I just discovered “Bandits” with Bruce Willis, Cate Blanchett & Billy Bob Thornton – very funny with a couple of good twists.
Music: Beatles, Cranberries, most Motown, Beethoven, Antonin Dvořák, Willie Nelson…
Food: Sun warmed ripe peach pulled off the tree. Sweet corn straight from the garden to the kitchen. Late-harvest Riesling or Eiswein (ice wine). Salmon and Semillon; dark chocolate and any robust red wine (merlot or cabernet).

Lately I have been thinking about, and have produced a presentation about, “line families.” It is an on going project. I have given this presentation at conferences on the east coast, on Maui and at Polycamp and Seattle area venues. A friend said I am writing a book. I think I am.

Doing things I like.

I don’t want to die without young friends who will tell wonderful lies at my wake about my amazing life. And as the evening wears on, my life will get more and more amazing.
