I am exuberant, grounded, and flexible.
My Self-Summary
I'm a recent transplant from Boston, MA, exploring Portland and
looking to find my new home here. I'm smiley, friendly, and often
vulgar. I make origami cranes for bored children out of old
receipts while riding public transit, I think pirates are killer,
and I love eating breakfast by myself in a park. I journal a lot,
and stunning cloud formations take my breath away.
Perfunctory lists:
I'm interested in Anti-Racism, Environmental Justice, Climate
Change, Local Food, and Social Entrepreneurship.
I can never get enough of gardening, dancing (booty dancing, where
possible), cooking, biking, hiking, swimming, drinking good beer,
peeing my pants laughing, and planning the
revolution.
I just finished grad school in nonprofit management and ended a 6
year stint working for the state in Massachusetts in the
environmental field. I'm not sure what comes next for me,
career-wise, but top priorities are finding work that's fun,
challenging, somehow helps the world, and ignites my passion.
I recently ended a long, serious relationship, and I'm not quite
sure why I'm on this site yet, but really? what the fuck. Why not.
What I’m doing with my life
Embracing transitions, leaping into the abyss, exploring myself and
the world, having a blast, and looking to make a positive impact.
I’m really good at
Finding common ground.
The first things people usually notice about me
Sometimes my enthusiasm. Sometimes my ass. I've also been told
recently that I have an unusually strong handshake. "Darth
Vador-like" was the descriptor, I believe.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
With limited space, I'll stick with a couple of non-representative
favorites. Books by Howard Zinn and Tom Robbins, Movies with Hank
Azaria in them, Music produced by Timbaland, and spicy/flavorful
food with local ingredients.
The six things I could never do without
Music, Berries, Touch, Humanity, the Earth, and Q-tips.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The process of becoming a more integrated, more authentic, more
grounded, more free person.
On a typical Friday night I am
I have no "typical" Friday night at the moment, but ideally?
Cooking a good meal, with good friends, drinking good beer,
laughing so hard my stomach hurts, and dancing to good music. A
super-ideal Friday night would end with earth-shattering sex.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
For whatever freakish reason, I love meetings and spreadsheets.
You should message me if
that's up to you, homie.
I should say that, so far, I have mostly been sitting by the
sidelines on here - don't be offended if I don't write back right
away. I'm still trying to figure out whether/how I want to get in
the game.
