My self-summary
First of all, I want to thank you for tolerating online dating. It has made it possible for you and I to cross paths. I know this site can be overwhelming for you because of all the idiots on here so I'm glad you've stuck through it.

My name is Saul.
I have an optimistic personality rooted in open-minded logic and adventurous curiosity.

One of the best things about being a human being is laughter. I absolutely love it. I think laughter can be spiritually and physically rejuvenating so I use my sense of humor whenever possible. This is not to say that I don't take life seriously. I'm very passionate about my life goals but you have to be able to laugh along the way, right? Most of the time the jokes that I crack are sarcastic and at my expense.

I enjoy getting in to deep conversations about science, life and reality. As much as I can, I try to steer away from the same old boring small talk and keep the conversations juicy. I also love to play devil's advocate. You know how when people complain about other people who aren't around.. and their side of the story always amplifies the wrongdoings of the person who's being talked about while downplaying their own faults? I'm the guy who's considering the point of view of the absent party. It just helps to keep things in perspective. I'll never arbitrarily pass judgement on other people just because of who my friends are. I always try to see the best in people. Even the ones who I don't come in contact with. Everyone has flaws, but everyone ALSO has qualities too and I think it makes more sense to focus on those.

You will find me very easy going yet always ready for an adventure. I love to hurt myself on my skateboard, draw, paint and sculpt as well as play the piano and guitar. Lately, I've been really in to researching the hell out of random topics that I find interesting. In this day and age, there's so much knowledge right at our fingertips, so why not just tap in and explore? I also think it's important to stay active so I am usually on the move. I'm always down for camping or hiking trips, bike riding or just a nice walk. I like snowboarding and surfing too. There are so many wonderful things to do in this city and I would love to meet someone who wants to reap the benefits with me.

There's a lot more to my personality but it's not always easy to convey in text. If I could let you hop inside by brain I would but I can't... That would hurt really bad.

By the way, If you are supporting Donald Trump for president, not only should you move on, but I suggest you close down okcupid right now.. go to Google and search "Delusional Disorder Therapy" and I wish you the best of luck. I mean, seriously, have you listened to this guy?!? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRly-0wwl_g
What I’m doing with my life
I work for the family business in the Specialty Coffee industry.

I am also being the most awesome dad in the world like I always knew I would be. I never forgot what it was like to be a small child and it has helped me relate to my two kids in a way that I can't describe. My kids don't live with me but I get to see them on Wednesdays and every other weekend.
I’m really good at
Bringing humor in to every conceivable situation possible. I love making people laugh but that's not even why I do it. It's mostly for my own amusement.

Hugs and affection. My arms are world famous for their ability to melt away all the stress of anyone who is held by them. I'm also self-insulated so my skin is always warm and soft to the touch. Being held by me is like a condensed tropical vacation.

Seeing the best in people and not judging them... If we become even somewhat friends, there will no doubt come a point where I will attempt to see the world through your eyes.

Being creative and artistic. I sculpt and draw and I am getting much better at piano.

Being a good listener. I really don't like interrupting people. This, in some cases, might cause me to appear quiet. However I'm quite comfortable with expressing myself.
The first things people usually notice about me
I've never asked anyone. I imagine it's that I'm a human man. But if you were able to look inside my soul, this is what you would see:

That I make the effort of stepping outside of myself to observe my behavior in order to be the kind of person that I would want to hang out with.

That I decide to actually LISTEN to the things people say to me instead of just waiting for my next chance to say something.

That I genuinely have a kind spirit and I value love, courtesy, integrity, communication and equality.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Eckhart Tolle, Tom Robbins, Oscar Wilde, William Falkner, T.S. Eliot, Stephen King, Tolkien, Myra Wolfe, Jane Austen, Michio Kaku, Shel Silverstien, Dr. Seuss

Movies: Big Lebowski, The Shining, Harold and Maude, Annie Hall, Back to the Future, Office Space, Payback, Eternal Sunshine of the Spottless Mind, Being John Malkcovich, Inception, Magnolia, and many others

Shows: I don't really watch TV but when I do it's Simpsons, Seinfeld, Breaking Bad and science-documentary shows on OPB, History and Discovery Channel and such

Radio: NPR. If it's radio at all... it's NPR. Btw, Remember that guy who had been on there forever who always said "Support for NPR comes from... AND from..." I do a great impression of him and i have this closet fantasy of taking over that job. Now that I have that confession out of my system, you can keep reading.

Music: The Pixies, A LOT of Roots Reggae from the 1970's and early 80's, Punk Rock like NOFX, Bad Religion, Pennywise, The Misfits, Sex Pistols, and Social D... Bluegrass like Sam Bush, Keller Williams, Iorn Horse, Alison Krauss and Johnny Staats Project.. other stuff like Future Islands, David Bowie, Leonard Cohen, Elliott Smith, Ween, Velvet Underground, Liz Phair, Tori Amos, Bob Dylan, Otis Redding, Steve Wonder, Smashing Pumpkins, Bjork, Beastie Boys, Floater, Violent Femmes, Hang Massive, The Sundays and WAY too many others. I worked at both Tower Records and Music Millennium for several years. My music collection is quite large. Music is something that means a lot to me. How cool is it that this intangible thing that you can't see or touch or smell or taste can do things like inspire people to change their lives and bring on strong emotions and memories and even make plants healthier!? Music, I think, is one of the coolest things in the universe.

Food: I love bacon and anything else that is delicious. I'm really not a picky eater at all. I will eat whatever, seriously.
The six things I could never do without
My two amazing children
Consciousness
Friends

Laughter
Adventure
I spend a lot of time thinking about
*The Universe
*Quantum Physics
*String Theory
*Extraterrestrial life
*How the human brain works and what it's potentials are
*Meditation and being fully present.
*What I would do if I had a time machine
*What reality really is
*Politics. (I used to try and avoid it at all costs but lately I just can't ignore it anymore.)
*If you were born deaf, what language would you think in?
On a typical Friday night I am
Having lots of fun... I have my two kids with me every other Friday so I get a nice balance of childish fun and adult fun.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have never faked a sarcasm.

This one time I saw a ghost in my kitchen. I told him to make me a sandwich.

I win arguments with myself in the shower.

I forgot my mantra.
You should message me if
*You are ready for good laughs and great company.
*You are SELECTIVE in the men you choose to date.
*You like the idea of hanging out with a guy who genuinely loves to make people happy.
*You like the things (or most of things) I said and you think we would hit it off.
