My self-summary
My name is Kevin, and I'm one of those rare few who are actually from Brooklyn and haven't wised up and moved some place decent. I like punk rock and folk music, cooking, gardening (especially growing veggies), hiking, camping, reading books (also comic books) and coffee.

Beyond that, I make really corny puns, watch good movies, watch bad movies, watch bad movies again (I really like bad movies), spend time with my friends. I've got a real soft spot for animals, and they seem to like me back.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a community habitation worker for people with developmental disabilities living at home. I like the work, but it's hard and takes up six days of my week. I also plan on going to grad school to get a masters in social work, so I can be a therapist. Someday.

Besides that, I'm mostly out (or in) with friends, reading books, spending too much time on the internet, gardening, listening to music and occasionally going to shows. Sometimes I volunteer at animals shelters. In warmer weather, I like to hike, canoe, kayak, swim, go camping and go for walks. I'm also currently practicing my drawing, mainly because I want to make my own comics for fun.
The first things people usually notice about me
Short and tiny. Kind of Hobbitish. Some tattoos. Nerdy. That I like word play.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Midnight's Children, The Satanic Verses, The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, Invisible Man, The Street, Homage to Catalonia, 1984, Animal Farm, Native Son, most things by Toni Morrison or Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Kafka on the Shore, Slaughterhouse 5, The Great Gatsby, For Whom the Bell Tolls.

Movies: I like silent movies, corny cheesy bad campy B-movies, and have an almost embarrassing love of Up, Wall-E, and How to Train Your Dragon.

Music: Folk, blues, punk rock, indie rock, folk punk, pop punk, rap, opera, classical music and some pop and old (early 20th century) country. I don't have the time or the inclination to list all my favorite bands, but feel free to ask. :)

Food: Mexican, Indian, Italian, in that order.
The six things I could never do without
The internet, my friends, coffee, spending time out in nature, Mexican food, and a good book.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The politics of communal organization, the dismantling of social hierarchies, wordplay, brewing my own beer, growing veggies, writing comic books in my head, wishing I had a dog or a cat to snuggle with, my bucket list, where I want to travel.
On a typical Friday night I am
Drinking tea and cuddling up with a good book. I have to get up for work early on Saturdays, so my "typical" Fridays aren't all that exciting.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
My three dream jobs are acrobat, chef, comic book writer. Acrobat cuz of my mild obsession with flight, chef because I love cooking for people, and comic book writer because I like using a fusion of the written word and images to tell a story.
