My self-summary
Okay so I grew up in a small town in England (aka I'm English), went to work as soon as I could and spent about 4 years in the film industry (post production / visual effects.) In this time, besides London, I worked in Mumbai, India for 10 months and Vancouver, Canada for 4 months. Both of which really opened my eyes to the world. I finished working at the end of 2013 and have been on the road since, traveling predominantly overland. As I write this I'm in Colombia ready to make the hop to Panama by boat tomorrow.

Like a lot of folk, I like to have good conversation and connect with people, even with my oddball sense of humour which either works or lead balloons hard, depending on the recipient. I'm into watching motorsports but it's really not one of those things I force on people, more of a personal interest. My main hobby is rock climbing / bouldering but I've been on a couple stellar hikes during this trip which have made me want to do more, along with cycling and just generally bouncing about the globe.

I recently set my location to Vancouver since it's where I'll next be chilling for a while with friends and I eventually plan to move there.
What I’m doing with my life
Traveling full time. The last 5 months have been Canada, Mexico and pretty much all of Central and South America. Basically just getting things figured out! I'll be making my way back up to Vancouver now without flying. I'd give that about 1.5 months.

By virtue of just being on this continent I'm also taking a pretty good crack at learning Spanish. Good days, bad days.
I’m really good at
I want to say spaceflight but that would be entirely false. I've only actually been into space once... And by once I mean never.

Seriously I'm more a jack-of-all (ONE F) but if I were to say I was really good at one thing it would probably be "getting around the place." Whatever that is. I would love to say I'm good at bouldering but I'm probably just ok. Ehh, I have fun doing it anyhow.
The first things people usually notice about me
This used to be about the fact that I look young but in both India and Vancouver it's been that I "look like" Harry Potter. I'm not sure the glasses and dark hair helped (I'm actually back to blonde now! Need to sort out a new picture eh.) but I don't mind either way...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
MOVIES: Annie Hall, Before Sunrise, Midnight in Paris, Jurassic Park and most Studio Ghibli animations amongst many others.

TV: 30 Rock, Community, Black Mirror, Sherlock, Twin Peaks, Spaced

MUSIC: This changes pretty frequently but of late I've been listening to Bon Iver, Jaga Jazzist and Alt-J. Historically though I was brought up on Frank Zappa.

BOOKS: The Metamorphosis, Ninteen-Eighty-Four, The Book Of Tea, The Fountainhead (With a pinch of salt!), The Jungle Book, Isaac Asimov shorts, The Big Sleep, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, The Day of the Triffids, Snow Crash. More Sci-Fi than anything else.

FOOD: Curry, Pizza, Bacon, Pasta, Ramen, Bacon, Breaded Chicken, Stews, Fry Ups and anything with bacon. Really I'm willing to try most things.
The six things I could never do without
1) Passport (I don't like being in the same place for too long!)
2) Something to aim for / a catalyst.
3) Friends (Dawwwww)
4) Tea isn't always available on the road and I'm learning to live without so I'ma just say "comforting beverages"
5) Motorsports (apart from off-season, then I just mope)
6) Music
7) BREAKING THE MOTHER FUDGING RULES!... Just kidding.

This is a funny one now I'm backpacking, I've had to think hard about what I do and don't need. Ultimately I think I could go without anything material if it came down to it. Even as I say that I'd struggle to get rid of my laptop as non-essential as it is. On the road it's my means of communication so it's basically all of my friends in a box. Ergo, #3.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Traversing the globe, how to make things work with as little stress possible and climbing things (particularly the things I shouldn't climb.) I think the next travel destinations will be the Trans-Siberian Railway through Russia and Mongolia to Beijing then from there to North Korea and onwards. I've spent around 600 hours on buses in the last 4 months so that's given me a lot of time to think and find peace, resolve things and generally sort this whole thing out *points to self*.
On a typical Friday night I am
In London I'd be out with workmates, probably disastrously trashed somewhere unless I was feeling like a homebody. Now I rarely know what day it is so none of that matters.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I was once publicly sick in a bar at a table surrounded by about 20 of my friends and colleagues whilst they cheered me on, trying to down an entire pitcher (4 beers.) I got SO close! Never mind.
