My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm an explorer of the path less traveled. I've taken a lot of unusual routes to get to where I am today, stumbled and stubbed my toe on occasion, but I like to think it's made me a bit wiser. I've learned a lot of lessons along the way: Who I am, what I want and how I want to get there. Very much a "the journey is more important than the destination" type.

I've got a great sense of humor and love to laugh, often at myself, and will go quite a ways out of my way to bring a smile to someone else's face.

My friends, if you could get them to be serious for more than five seconds, would describe me as bright, witty, engaging, compassionate, caring and giving, all traits I make an effort to nurture on a daily basis.

Art plays a huge role in my life; whether it be by wandering through the MIA on a Saturday afternoon, listening to music, catching a show or concert, going to a movie or even taking a walk in the woods, I think there's art all around us if we just look for it.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working the white collar dream, wearing chinos, thinking about the future, planning for what's next. For now, it's sales and ladder climbing, but I think the future holds public service for me. Occupational therapy, social work and teaching all intrigue me.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Making people laugh at times they think they can't.

Helping others.

Making up my own lyrics to songs.

Dancing (in my imagination at least).
The first things people usually notice about me

It varies from person to person. My height, my ridiculously enormous hands, my smile, my eyes and my laugh all are commented on.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

This list is apt to be long:

Books- Everything. Literally. Tolstoy, Dostoyevsky, Butcher, the Dalai Lama, Jordan, Steimbeck, Hemingway, Conrad, Voltaire...I can't possibly fill this all in.

TV- I very rarely have time to catch anything when it's actually on, but I do try to keep abreast of shows like Dexter, Weeds, the Sopranos, Deadwood, Hell on Wheels and the like. The Walking Dead has been in my cue forever. I really need to start it at some point.

Music- Like books, this is waaay too long of a list to fill in properly. Better to say that I believe every day has its own soundtrack. Jazz, local hip hop, rock, classical, indie, punk...every day is something different. I love the way music speaks to your soul, the way it can take you to a different place, make you feel in a way nothing else can.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Yeesh. Only six things? Well...

-iPhone (I know)
-Laughter (every day)
-Warm summer nights/snowy winter days
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
This is the section where we're supposed to ramble about world peace, melting polar caps and other issues that face the world. And, I think about those things. Seeing as this is a dating site, however: I spend a lot of time thinking about my "her". Where is she? Is she slamming the door of a cab after another god-awful date? Is she wondering where I am, who I am?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Out with friends for drinks, relaxing at home, finding a patio somewhere with a book and a cup of coffee. Causing trouble. Listening to someone share their week, vent their frustrations and trying to help. Or, sharing mine.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My mother passed away as a result of complications from cancer several years ago. She's often on my mind. I wonder what she would think of the choices I've made and the man I've grown into. I use her example, from her last few years, as a model for how to live: Embracing every day, chasing my dreams without fear, finding gratitude and joy in every day, every hour, every minute.

I also have a propensity to trip over my own feet and fall upstairs.
