My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Moi.

I used to have a really long self-summary, but even I got bored 1/4 of the way into it, so here's the revisionist version.

Married with one kid born November '10 Coloradan by way of New Jersey and California.

As of late, my chronology seems to be based on events requiring medical attention. So, from present, going backwards, in the last five years, dislocated left shoulder, partially dislocated right shoulder, appendectomy, broken right humerus, torn right ACL.

Other than that, I've been to Japan, the Philippines, Mexico (technically), and Argentina. I've hiked Barr trail to the top of Pikes Peak. I've flown a plane. I love New York City. I drive around aimlessly as a form of mental therapy.

I list spanish in my profile.. I can understand a lot better than I speak. Solamente hablo un pocquito.

Sumimasen, nihongo wo hanashimasen.

I am mellow, fun, and idealistic
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Keyboard junkie for a large corporation. It's safe and secure, and I like my careers that way, thank you. Recreational autocrosser, really really really bad counterstrike player. Highlighting roads on my map of Colorado as I drive them. Recreational roller hockey player, just trying not to break something while I enjoy myself. Occassional skier, which is a shame considering I live in Colorado. On a mild fitness kick as of late.

Generally trying to have fun while trying to not hurt myself.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Being optimistic. Entertaining myself. Wasting time. Picking the hard, but fun way to do things. Listening. Being horrible at Counterstrike. Packing lots of things into small places, like the back of a volkswagen.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm cheerful, in a good mood, and relatively easy to talk to. Either that or I'm doing something that draws attention to myself, e.g. singing out loud, whistling, humming, making faces at children (especially my own!), being generally goofy, etc.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books) Metaphysical Touch, any of the Sue Grafton series, the James Herriot series, any of the Peter Mayle books, the Thursday Next series. I've read almost all of the R.A. Salvatore Forgotten Realms books, a good number of other FR books, and a healthy portion of the Dragonlance series. The Peter Egan collections are currently on my nightstand when I'm not reading for school. I occasionally grab books off the new author shelf if the cover and jacket text is interesting. Freakonomics, Superfreakonomics, and Innovators' Dilemma round out the book list for the moment.

Movies) Better Off Dead, Groundhog Day, Serendipity, The Wedding Singer, Love Actually, Empire Records, The Man Who Knew Too Little, Sneakers, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Harry Potter (#3 is my fav),

Music) The Sundays, Natalie MacMaster, Trisha Yearwood, The Wreckers, Gipsy Kings, Rilo Kiley, Diana Krall, Taylor Swift. just about anything really. I'm not terribly picky with my music. My latest focus has been Jonathan Coulton and Schuyler Fisk.

Food) I love fast food, but I also love a well cooked meal. All food is good. Except filter organs. I try not to eat livers and kidneys. To quote someone I know, "I love a good filet mignon as much as the next person, but sometimes I just want to rip into a greasy cheeseburger and go RRRrrr!" Sushi, yes.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Music, Laughter, Sunshine, Internet access, My Car, Indoor plumbing. Not so much for the toilet's sake, but more for the showers in water that's above freezing. I mean, I like a good, cold shower as much as the next person, but I don't need icicles inserted into my back, thanks.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Song Lyrics. How much I'd rather being doing anything else besides being at work.

Why there aren't any political candidates that represent ME?! Not that I'm going to run for office.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Probably catching up on housework, or inventing a fabulous dinner.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My car has a name. I know because she told it to me.

You know any good jokes. If you've answered a healthy amount of questions here, and the fact that I still match intrigues you.
