I'm from Minneapolis and I just to moved to Milwaukee for Grad school. I'm working towards my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I'm generally a very artsy person. Music, film, theater, art, and travelling are all my passions. I love all kinds of music but my favorites are Punk, Rockabilly, EDM, synth pop, Classic Rock and Jazz. I minored in film so I'm a big movie buff. I stay active by biking and hiking (I'm a city boy but I do like nature and the outdoors) and I also enjoy swing dancing. I also love creepy, weird and/or unusual stuff and Halloween is kind of a year round thing for me :) I've always been an old soul. Studying abroad in Europe for 5 weeks was a life changing experience for me, and I spent 5 years as a radio DJ.
What I’m doing with my life
Just busy working and going to grad school. In what free time I have I watch movies and listen to music but I do love to explore and since I'm new to Milwaukee its ripe for exploring. I also love collecting movies and records and books I'm always up for trying new things.
I’m really good at
-listening to people,
-being honest and direct
-and I have wealth of knowledge about movies and music, TV, books, and pop culture in general as well as art and history and other stuff too.
-singing in the shower/karaoke :)
-telling jokes and having fun
-I love traveling and exploring (even locally)
-I love trying new things (food, going to new places, etc.)
-I wouldn't say I'm REALLY good at it, but I do enjoy swing dancing, and just dancing in general
The first things people usually notice about me
I think anyone who knows me would say I'm pretty laidback, down to earth and I'm very loyal and a good listener. I have a good sense of humor and can usually get most people laughing. People also tend to notice that I'm always looking on the bright side and staying optimistic. I have a very recognizable booming laugh that people will notice right away and I get a lot of compliments for it.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I mostly read short stories and horror fiction. My favorite books are the harry potter books, The Great Gatsby and To Kill a Mockingbird, and some of my favorite authors include Clive Barker, Ray Bradbury and Stephen King.
I love all kinds of music though I typically like older stuff, lately a lot of Punk, rockabilly, garage rock, classic folk-rock, Post-punk/New Wave, 80s, and EDM (synth pop the most though lately). I do listen to newer music too, usually a lot of indie music, and folk, and electronic stuff.
As far as movies go I like all kinds of movies too but I go out of my way to watch and find obscure stuff. I'm probably one of few guys who don't like action movies haha. I love horror movies (though I hate gore) and cult classics: so like The Big Lebowski, Fear and Loathing, Labyrinth, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Almost Famous etc.
And as far as TV shows I don't really watch TV, I'd much rather watch six movies than a whole season of a show. Some of my favorite shows are: the original Twilight Zone, The X-Files, Twin Peaks, Dark Shadows, and then stuff like Hotel Impossible, Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern, Cut Throat Kitchen and other stuff on the Travel Channel and Food network.
The six things I could never do without
-My Faith ( consider myself a liberal Catholic with other world religons and philosphy influences too)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Life and all of its ins outs what-ifs and what-have-yous
On a typical Friday night I am
Usually hanging out with my friends watching movies, getting some drinks, playing some kind of game, or relaxing by myself watching movies.
You should message me if
You're looking for someone who is respectful and a good listener, but still likes/knows how to have fun.
