My self-summary
Look, I dig cats and plants. Wanna fuck?

WAIT WAIT WAIT, keep reading...
What I’m doing with my life
"I'm the creative type. I could NEVER be one of those guys who sits in front of a computer writing code all day".

I sit in front of a computer writing code all day.

Actually, it's a really cool gig. I'm Senior Developer at a small (less than 20 employees) company that builds social networking sites for non-profits and associations; I've been there for just over five years now. We work hard, we play hard. Dear God, did I just say that?

*2012 update: Still in software, although I've added a job change, lap swimming, hiking, learning German, and travelling every chance I get to my bag of tricks. Not a bad little way to exist.*
I’m really good at
Not being broke or playing bass in shitty bands anymore.
The first things people usually notice about me
I don't know. Probably that I'm deficient in some very basic and obvious way.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I've reached a point where I've come to the realization that taste in music, movies, political affiliation etc. hold no REAL bearing on compatibility with another person. You spend the first part of your adult life forging relationships with that assumption and the second part cleaning up your mistakes because of that assumption. A handful will overcome The Assumption. But that being said, please...no DMB fans (*edit* I had to go with the acronym as fans kept getting routed to my profile *edit*).

Alright, alright...
-Kundera, Tolstoy...actually been going through a really big Eastern European/Russian lit phase lately.
-A lot of krautrock and krautrock-derived (i.e. post-rock) stuff lately. Got a record player last Christmas and have been digging on some traditional Hungarian, Spanish, and Brazilian folk lp's.
-Love the food. Hate the foodies.

*2012 update: Just finished Don Quixote. Though possibly the most influential piece of literary work in Western history as well as one of the first true novels, the simple truth is that the main character probably just ate a lot of acid.*
The six things I could never do without
Oh, I've done without and I can certainly do without. But laughter, books, movies, Guinness, and weirdos do tend to rank a little higher than, say, Theo Huxtable.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How sorry the people that have hurt me will be when I'm dead.
On a typical Friday night I am
It IS Friday night and I just crawled into bed with a laptop and a cheap bottle of red. See, this is where you come in, Furry Bear (you don't mind if I call you "Furry Bear" in front of your friends, do you?).
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I tried to love David Lynch as much as I know I'm supposed to. I mean, Lord have mercy I tried...
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 30–50
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
you've gotten this far. You probably can both give and take off-colour humour and realize that there is absolutely nothing (especially yourself) that isn't a source of parody.

It would also be cool if you've never uttered the phrase "You gotta be in it to win it".
