My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am kink-friendly, happily poly, and look at the world in a way that I am told is unconventional. I question lots of things and examine the reasons behind the unstated, yet generally accepted “universal truths” that are not-necessarily universal. And sometimes not true.

I accept people as they are, and as they are not.

I am in a domestic, long-term relationship with Rangylil.

I have a long-term, long-distance, intimate connection with Sybaritic.

I am polyamorous by nature. No, I am not a swinger. Nor am I looking for a casual fling, nor anything discreet.

I am somewhat sapiosexual. Physical chemistry is still important, but I typically find a person's mind to be more attractive than the color of their hair, for example.

A crackling fireplace can enthrall me for hours.

My political views are left of center.

I am highly energy-sensitive and aware.

I am empathic of both physical sensation (pain and pleasure) as well as emotional well-being (joy and sorrow, with quite a bit in between).

A mirror-touch synesthete, for those who prefer less woo-woo terminology. Synesthesia is fascinating! If certain words or sounds or feelings have color in your mind's eye... or you experience any other form of “sensory cross-wiring,” you might be synesthetic, too.

I enjoy talking about perceptual differences and frames of reference, can you tell? ;)
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I am a student of life, always looking for opportunities to learn as well as to teach. We're all in this together, and none of us are getting off the planet alive.

It is only in the sharing of experiences that we find meaning in our lives.

Being fully present, and living in the moment.

This moment, fingers touch-typing on a keyboard, is an interesting experience that is frequently taken for granted. Conscious thoughts, turned into dots on your screen, that emulate marks on paper, that get interpreted as characters that represent sound in your mind's ear... All this, created by my fingers moving from muscle memory.

They say the medium is the message. Is this medium my keyboard, your screen, or both? If you go back and re-read this sentence out loud, did the medium just change again?

Right now you're reading my mind, across both time and space. Neat trick!

I enjoy playing cards as well as the occasional board game, whitewater rafting, and touring/camping on a motorcycle.

I enjoy varied conversation about everything under the sun.

The experience of travel is much more interesting than the accumulation of things.

I have worked as a system & network administrator, a professional whitewater rafting guide, and a semi-professional poker player. I consider myself a mostly-reformed geek, one who now actually has people skills. :-)
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Whatever I put my mind to.

Being good at something requires hard work, discipline, practice, as well as the desire to succeed. When I apply myself in this manner, I usually achieve what I set out to do.

The fact that I tend toward the lazy end of the productivity spectrum means that while I may not “do much” compared to some folks, what I do wind up doing, I tend to do really well. ;)
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My baby blue eyes, my long hair, my physical presence.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
– Thai curries, fresh Oregon Strawberries, chocolate mint truffles

– Most kinds of music, with the notable and absolute exceptions of Country/Western and Jazz

– Lots of different movies, highly situation and mood dependent. Not a movie buff, but I prefer film over TV

– Books? Haven't met a book yet I didn't like. I am a voracious reader with a bit of a book fetish. Seriously, the smell of old books is amazing.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Things are just things.

That said, a comfortable bed and nice shoes are things I am willing to invest in. Okay, and maybe an e-book reader.

The things that are important are not things, they are relationships and experiences:

Sensual touch
Heart-centered connectedness
Friendship & love, in all its wondrous forms, including compersion. What is compersion? It is the opposite of jealousy.

Take is away, Wikipedia: Compersion is a state of empathetic happiness and joy experienced when an individual's current or former romantic partner experiences happiness and joy through an outside source, including, but not limited to, another romantic interest. This can be experienced as any form of erotic or emotional empathy, depending on the person experiencing the emotion.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The nature of reality
The internal motivations behind the external reasons people give to explain why they say they behave the way they do
How things work
Just simple existential fireside chats, nothing too deep really

Descartes' daemon and I get along just fine, but I gave up on Solipsism awhile ago. Aren't “you” glad that “I” did? ;-)
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I have no idea what a “typical” night is. Hanging out with friends, at home reading a book, playing cards in Vegas, or deep in the forest howling at the moon. It depends on the week.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm not really a student, but there is no drop-down for small-business owner / jack-of-all-trades, and the idea of selecting Executive / Management makes my skin crawl.

I have a pretty hairy chest. Not quite Robin Williams, but definitely a manly-man with a perpetual six-o'clock shadow.

Yet I tend to be anima-dominant, for whatever Jungian introspection is worth. I have been told this is not a common combination.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
Please message me if you are easy-going, enjoy varied conversation, and are interested in making new friends. The possibility for more is certainly there, but I tend to take things rather slowly. I enjoy hanging-out and getting-to-know-people-organically much more than traditional “dating.”

Please identify as poly, be poly-curious, or at the very least aware of and interested in the idea of non-monogamous/polyamorous/open relationships.

Ethical non-monogamy can be very rewarding, but just like monogamy, isn't for everyone.
