My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.

OK, first off - I don't really live in Coney Island. I live in
a historic neighborhood in northern Brooklyn, where there are a hell of a lot more tattooed freaks running around and the tap water glows the prettiest shade of neon pink.

I enjoy everything from artsy fartsy schtuff to nerdy science fun. I read a lot. Right now, Tolstoy and Jim Shepard are in the midst of a literary pile-up on my nightstand.

I'm a low-high girl, like a PBR on a yacht.

Life would be just dandy if I had more time to spend in museums and galleries... and life would be perfect if I had a house with a front porch. Even better if that porch rolled onto the beach, where I could hunt fish with a shotgun. Dare to dream!

I'm also an avid biker... but of the fair weather variety.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I love to write fiction and cultural criticism, and I'm in a mutually
abusive relationship with music. But to pay the bills, I'm lucky to have a PR job that pays me to make complete sentences.

I'm also learning Brazilian Portuguese, so I can order us the perfect caipirinha.

I'm not a materialistic person and am more into good conversation than nightclubs. I also volunteer by teaching children arts and crafts through NY Cares. Officially, it's to foster self-esteem, creativity and communication skills in the children, but personally it's to shamelessly mold the next generation in my image. Someone has to teach these kids how to handle their drugs like Keith Richards!

I also just returned from surf camp in Nicaragua. It rocked.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
gardening, karaoke, stating the obvious, and quoting the Chevy Chase / Dan Aykroyd 80's classic "Spies Like Us".
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm Batman

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
of course, friends and family top the list:

idle time in bed
playing music with others
a good book
my passport
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Plotting weekends, my next vacation, joining the circus, surfing this summer, and making music.

I got bitten by the running bug and ran my first marathon three years ago (NYC!). Alas, I didn't win but I loved every painful, nauseating moment so much I ran another one in Berlin... what can I say, it's an addiction that doesn't rot my teeth. So make sure I eat my pastas.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Knife throwing. And watching Spies Like Us.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm willing to lie about how we met.
