I work for an organisation that helps kids who are out of school get back into education. My role is a mix of fixing computers, trying to make sure our network stays alive, and improving our student database/data analysis tools.
I tend to spend most of my free time on a mix of reading, thinking, chatting in neat little coffee places, playing online games with friends, and visiting interesting places (recently: a gin parlour, an old stately home, and Alton Towers). I'm also learning how to code (in a language called c#), and while I really enjoy my current job, I think I'd like to work as a programmer in the future.
Movies? The Princess Bride is my all time favorite. Ocean's Eleven is the runner up here, and closer to a usual movie night for me.
Shows? I'm currently halfway through watching Fringe (think modern X Files), and enjoying every episode. I loved the BBC's rendition of Sherlock Holmes, and Burn Notice is excellent too.
Games? I have a few close friends that don't live in Birmingham any longer, and we often end up playing League of Legends together while chatting on Skype. I also enjoy Bioware RPGs - Baldur's Gate 2, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, etc.
Music? I listen to a lot of electronica, and some classical/rock/other miscellany. Recent favorites include The Sounds, Ladytron, neat piano covers of music from Final Fantasy 6, and The Sisters of Mercy.
Food? I'm not too picky. I'd be awfully sad without green tea and black coffee, though.
Really though, I just spend a lot of time thinking period. I love understanding new systems/things.
