My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Fiesty, honest, happy, irreverent.
Transplanted from Kentucky six years ago.
I miss the South, but I'm adjusting.
I'm so completely not Scandinavian.
I think Minneapolis is amazing.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Making money working as an academic librarian.
Making myself happy with my art car, Bette, with my cats (I'm up to three now) and my big dog (a 6 year old Great Dane), poking around in my garden, writing, making art, hanging out with friends.

Last year, I did a lot of traveling for fun (which is a little unusual for me). I was in Boone and Louisville for a few weeks last summer; in Dismals Canyon outside Birmingham in September; in Antigua and Panajachel, Guatemala in both March and October, and in Cologne, Germany for the winter holidays.

This year, I'll be closer to home, but went back to my "heart's home" in Louisville for a wedding in June, and am heading to Vegas for a Rare Books Conference. I'm already planning to spend Holy Week 2015 in Guatemala with friends (though we may go to Curacao instead!), and will see what other travels that year brings. I'd like to go to Istanbul for my 50th birthday, and to Central Africa, to see the mountain gorillas ... someday.

I've also decided I'm going to learn the tango. Argentinian Tango.

Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
big-city life
live music & art

friendly, furry creatures in my life

Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
making things, like chicken coops, gardens, poems and strong relationships ...
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Lately, I've been more of a homebody (especially depending on how my week has gone). The past two Fridays I've been home nursing tiny kittens the other librarians and I rescued on campus on October 1st.

Saturday nights might find me up in the TC doing something with a friend (show at the Cedar or the Turf Club, a play at Mixed Blood or The Southern, drinks and dinner somewhere … I like Cafe Ena) or walking along the Mississippi with my dog. I *do* try to spend lots of time with my dog; she waits so patiently for me all week while I'm at work that I feel she deserves it.

you like art cars, big dogs and friendly cats, sleeping in on weekend mornings, walking to your favorite restaurant for a late dinner and a drink, hanging out in the city ... if you're grouchy about the NSA and admire Noam Chomsky ...

you hate malls, love brainy movies, good music, summer evenings outdoors watching bats stitch the sun down into the Mississippi River ...

you will treat my many gay and lesbian friends, and my friends who are members of multi-racial families with acceptance, respect and love …
