My self-summary
Arrrggghhhhh................ugghhhh. ( this is my exasperation at explaining myself....let's just meet and have coffee and see if the pheromones collide )

I have a motorcycle but I'm not a bike guy. I have an old car but I'm not a car guy. I shoot but I'm not a gun guy. I garden but I'm not a hippy. I have a lot of things I do but I don't define myself by any of them. My greatest over arching interest that bleeds over into other areas of my life might be my cats.

I've lived in a lot of places growing up and as an adult.

Boston, SF, LA, Austin, Santa Fe, Toronto, England, Germany.
I've traveled to a bunch more but would like to step out of my cultural comfort zone a bit. I recently went to Nicaragua and had a great time. I've never been to Asia though and would love to check it out.

I'm not a huge sports guy but I do like yoga, swimming and marksmanship. I go for the Dandy Sports. Do you play tennis? I'm just starting again and love it. I'd like to get out there and do some other stuff but would like a partner to take me on their own adventures too. Every time I duck out of LA and go to the mountains or some such other place I wonder why I don't do it more often. let's go camping.

I'd like to learn the following things:

Horseback riding
Tailoring
Boot Making

What I can teach in return:

architectural design
Photoshop
drafting
mechanics
marksmanship
cat wrangling
construction skills
oven building
bread baking
What I’m doing with my life
Architecture

I've had a lot of jobs. I've worked in restaurants, construction trades, went to school for architecture and worked as one for a couple of years and then splintered off doing architectural renderings for other firms.

trying to find balance between social, personal and work time is tough but I'm getting better. Having my own business is liberating but it can be difficult to leave it at the end of the day.

Designing, baking, oven building, laughing, space station planning.
I’m really good at
naturally sensing proportion and scale.

The six things I could never do without
my house, my cat family, wonderful sex, learning, a purpose, my current project
I spend a lot of time thinking about
That hearing someone's voice on the phone before ever seeing the words come out of their mouth creeps me out somewhat. I think the two need to come together until people know each other. There's a lot of inflection in voice that can be misinterpreted if you can't see the twinkle in the eye.
On a typical Friday night I am
I work for myself. Weekends fall where they may.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I recently attended the Age of Limits conference. The information furnished by the speakers ran the gamut from impending financial collapse to human extinction by 2030. I'm still processing it and doing my due diligence with my own follow up research. I tend to lean to the "things are fucked up" scenario as opposed to we are all going to die scenario.

What I do know, and what has always eaten away at the corners of psyche and place in the world is that the situation we are all in is untenable. It's impossible to base an ever expanding economy on the fallacy of unlimited resources on a finite planet. I think a lot of the problems we are facing today as a society, country, culture and planet are due to this illusion. I firmly believe that in the future we will all have to learn to make do with less. What is not under debate is that we in the US make up 5% of the world's population and use 30% of it's resources. As a single entity, the US military has a larger carbon footprint than anything else on the planet. These are things that make me wonder.

You should message me if
If you think we'd get along or like what you see, please message me and don't stand on gender formality. This whole digital interaction / simulacrum of character is spotty at best so in the end it's a numbers game. Unfortunately dear reader we will probably both go on a lot of dates that don't go anywhere but we might make friends and hopefully find someone special in the end.

you are not a bad person, you have something to teach, give or to receive.

I'm up in the air as to the morality of replying to a message even if I don't think we're a good fit. I've tried both ways. Small town me says ethics and manners necessitate a reply. Experience has shown people think it is gratuitous cruelty to say thanks but no thanks.

You are amazingly beautiful, slender, you're intelligent and like talking about things dumb to deep. You think that we'd be a good match. I do not consider myself a normal run of the mill person and hence know I'll be a good fit for someone special.

I should note: I do not drink nor do drugs. I don't mind if you do but if you get tipsy or lit on our date I'm gonna be left at the station while you're on the party train. Probably not that good a time for either of us. I don't think complete abstinence is something I need from a partner but if drinking or smoking weed is a daily occurrence we probably aren't gonna work out as more than friends or buddies.

I'm not on here either to have solely email or phone correspondence. I'd like to meet you for really reals. You can usually tell if you're going to fit with a person pretty soon after meeting them. Weeks of digital correspondence dashed by a day of real interaction is a tough road to hoe.

In regards to location: I hate traffic. Nothing makes me see mushroom clouds on my psychic horizon more than sitting in traffic for two hours when that trip takes me 20mins at 2 in the morning. I'm eastside, so if you're westside we'd have to have something pretty special right off the bat to make me sacrifice what little serenity I've cobbled together throughout the day.
Hope you folks all meet someone you can hang with.
