My self-summary
I enjoy meeting new people, trying new things, and exploring new places--you know, standard twenty-something stuff. I'm a big fan of drinking games and thinking games, long conversations, offbeat menu items, and random road trips. Bars are cool. Clubs can be. Lively music is fun live, but mellower stuff tends to be iPod-only. When it comes to books and movies, I tend towards escapism--the historical, the Sci-Fi, the international, the fantasy, the surreal, or the just plain old.
What I’m doing with my life
I just picked up my Physics degree, and I've been working as an engineer since last January.
I’m really good at
I've heard people say that I'm a good listener. I guess that's a talent.

I guess I'm a pretty fun running partner, too. I hate running by itself, so I always try to make my runs interesting. This occasionally involves outrunning mall security guards on Segways (they have trouble with the escalators), racing gangs of small children on bikes, and swimming.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Some Books: Siddhartha, The Kite Runner, A Deepness in the Sky, A Storm of Swords, The Right Stuff, This Side of Paradise.

Some Movies: American Beauty, Gladiator, Spirited Away, 500 Days of Summer, The Social Network, Rocky IV (Easily the most quotable movie on this list), Halloweentown (an under-appreciated Halloween classic), (and more recently) Inside Llewyn Davis, Life of Pi, Zero Dark Thirty, Star Trek: Into Darkness.

Some TV Shows: Game of Thrones, The Wire, The Newsroom, Downton Abbey, Scrubs, Firefly, Blackadder, Fareed Zakaria GPS.

Some Music: Oasis, Death Cab for Cutie, The Shins, Jimmy Eat World; Kanye West, Nas, Tyler the Creator; Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix; Radiohead, M83, Bon Iver.
The six things I could never do without
My Buick - I feel trapped if I don't have access to my own car.

HBO - I cut off my cable last summer, and filled the video void in my life with Youtube and my parents' HBO-GO subscription. Accordingly, essentially all of my favorite shows are HBO series.
(2014 Update: I've added a few favorite shows, and acquired cable and Netflix. New #2 coming soon.)

Perpendicular Parking - I never felt like learning to parallel park properly. Even when I lived in the city I mostly shopped in the suburbs.

Variety - So this "thing" is pretty cheesy, but routine depresses me.

Snowy Winters

*sigh*...Coffee. This would be a pretty dishonest list if I didn't include my #1 chemical dependency.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My life, my work, my future, the fact that I spend too much time thinking about my life, my work and my future.

Also politics, technology, history, outer space, the cult of Apple, that cliche but awesome four month European adventure that everyone except me apparently embarked upon during college...
On a typical Friday night I am
I don't think that I have a typical Friday night anymore, given my recent city-change. I'd start my typical Friday night in college by meeting a group of friends at a bar or house party. With any luck, the night would eventually spiral into a crazy adventure through some Baltimore neighborhood, optimally ending on some rooftop or balcony that offered a view of the Baltimore City skyline.

I've since set out to find a new typical Friday, and I know that that Friday will be profoundly shaped by the new people that I meet in the Boston area. In general--on Friday nights--I tend to enjoy good conversations and/or beer, wherever they happen to be.
