My self-summary
Recently I started feeling like I hadn't really done much with my life in terms of social interaction and relationships, so I've decided to give that more emphasis in my life by, for instance, creating this profile. I'm open to all kinds of new experiences and I'll try anything at least once.

If you're looking for some kind of quick summary of my personality, the best I can do is tell you that the personality type I most identify with in the MBTI model is INTP, but I'm not 100% sure
What I’m doing with my life
Studying (I study engineering at a university), wasting my time on my computer playing games (I'm a very skilled procrastinator), pursuing projects that I never complete and more recently (as evidenced by this profile) relationships with people, was conscripted recently but I'm done with that now and I'm getting back to studying but hopefully I'll find a job and get to work for a few months at least.
I’m really good at
Thinking and talking about stuff, being creative (or at least I try), procrastinating, obsessing over details when it's not really necessary. =p
The first things people usually notice about me
I don't really know, and I'm always a little bit nervous about finding out. But if you have positive feedback (or constructive criticism -- both are welcome) feel free to send me a message and let me know!

But I guess they'd note how geeky (as in smart-ish and interested in computers, learning things etc. -- people seem to disagree about the definition of this word), quirky and introverted/absent minded I am.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I like Sci-Fi a lot so I like authors like Iain M. Banks, for instance (older sci-fi classics by people like Asimov, Niven and P. K. Dick are fine too) and disaster movies (Day After Tomorrow, 2012), space movies (2001 Space Odyssey), The Matrix... Lots of stuff.
I used to read a lot more fiction when I was a kid, went through series like Animorphs, Everworld, Remnants and also many standalone SciFi/fantasy novels -- basically books with teens as their target audience.

Shows follow the same trend; it has to have something larger than life to interest me, generally, although I have watched shows like Harry's Law, The Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother, for instance. But mainly shows like Stargate (SG-1 is my favorite show ever), Fringe, Sanctuary, Supernatural, Eureka (bad sci-fi, but fun), Doctor Who (doesn't even try to be good sci-fi, but it has great characters, atmosphere and stories).

When it comes to music, I have no genre loyalties. I'll listen to anything if I can relate to it on some level. Good music can be any of the following (and more): has a catchy tune, has a message that I relate to, evokes emotions, motivates, helps me concentrate, required tremendous skill to create, etc.
So basically... Classical, Oldies, Jazz, Blues, Rock, Metal, Rap, Electronic and stuff that I don't even have names for. The only music I *don't* like is mass-produced, regurgitative, repetitive, uncreative, abuses social memes (generally entirely fabricated by a marketing department to generate maximum profit) like an artist's image to sell records and other such things. Basically I'm open to suggestions. If you wanted examples of bands I currently listen to, here are some: AC Rock, Del The Funky Homosapien, Iron Maiden, Jedi Mind Tricks, Skrillex, and just for variety lets throw in an indie artist like Lauren O'Connel (huge e-crush of mine), for instance.

In terms of food, I like to eat healthy, whenever possible, but I also have vices like chocolate and chips and such, which don't do any favors to my skin, for instance. I'm also tempted to experiment with things like a ketogenic diet, too, just to see if it would increase my performance/health and such, but for now I'm operating mainly on carbohydrates and low fat rather than the converse. As for more or less healthy foods that I like, I'm really not that picky. There are a few definite no-no's, though, namely things like blue cheese and certain, more exotic types of seafood (things like oysters and caviar and other weird things I'm somewhat hesitant to try, though admittedly never have).
The six things I could never do without
Science, technology, discussion, rest/fun/art/aesthetics/other enjoyment/relaxing stuff, my sanity,people/relationships (as I'm beginning to find out)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Everything. My life and what I want to do with it, mundane stuff like what I'm going to eat or what I want to do today. However I strive to spend my time thinking either about something practical and useful or some larger-than-life stuff: philosophy, society, science etc. I try not to get too bogged down with meta and worrying about things too much but it does happen.

But then again, it's also important to be mindful of the present and keep in mind the little things in life that make it all so interesting like the smell of rain and just looking at things that please you aesthetically without trying to define it, necessarily.
On a typical Friday night I am
Mostly I spend time at home alone reading/on the internet/watching TV/playing computer games (a vast timesink I've probably wasted about half my life on) or a project of some kind if exceptionally motivated.

I'm not really the sort of person to go out clubbing at night unless I'm abroad or peers at my university manage to convince me etc. Or if I get exceptionally frustrated at rarely going out.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm not very experienced in relationships and I don't exactly inspire awe with my people skills and charisma, and this seems to be a huge turn-off for most, and is proving to be the biggest hurdle in finding a match.

It's not that bad once you get to know me, but being difficult to approach seems to dissuade most people from even trying. So if you can tolerate that, who knows, you might be pleasantly surprised in the end (no promises but I try my best). :3
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 18–45
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, casual sex
You should message me if
[Just a note about the above section: the age part is highly dependant on the purpose of the relationship. I could converse and such with someone significantly older, but I'm not sure if a long-term romantic relationship would work due to our most likely differing life situations and experience and status and all that -- for friends, penpals or activity partners (I assume this means hobbies and such) it really doesn't matter, you can be male/female and however old you like]

You should message me if:
You want to talk to me because it won't happen otherwise -- I'm too shy to message you :p

So if you have any questions you'd like to ask me, anything you'd like to know, don't hesitate to send me a message ^.^
