I AM: a friend, passionate about cooking, part time saint and full time smart ass (only some of the time). I enjoy most of what life has to offer and grow from what's left. My friends describe me as intelligent, fun, passionate, intense, serious, honest, open-minded, exciting, extroverted, curious, health-minded, friendly and just enough "off" to make life interesting (depending on your definition of interesting). I have a 3 yr. old beautiful kitty that I named Chirp (she makes this cute chirping sound) so I hope you are not allergic. I enjoy long conversations over coffee about anything that makes me think and even things that don't. Education is very important to me as I have two degrees, but don't doubt that I have a wicked zeal for adventure and fun such as exploring numerous restaurants, museums, parks, bookstores, ethnic food bodegas and small hole-in-the-wall dives that have some of the best dishes waiting to be savored.

I live for cooking, biking (where do the miles go?), reading, concerts, dancing until dawn, musicals and halloween. I have attempted to ski, although, I am thoroughly proficient at falling.

Passionate cooking, to me, is deeply spiritual in nature and cannot be described in mere words. If you love food and are willing to be cooked for you may just win my heart. I have experienced the world and seen it through the eyes of others and wish to meet another person that has done the same. I am many things and it may take time to find out but the easiest way to describe me is this: This is what a Michael looks like.

I am a classically trained french chef that is currently pursuing my next career in food science - I want to create healthy foods that taste great. I am preparing to pursue my masters in food science (taking the prerequisites). I am also very active with my health - gym and bike riding, so you can find me pedaling all over town this summer.

I am also taking a ton of chemistry courses so I keep wondering when we are going to blow stuff up in lab. Note: my professor was not amused by that question...

Inspiring others and myself through the creation of my dishes...shall i create one for you? Sharing my experience, strength and hope with others. Teaching and taking time for others. Oh!..and teaching others how to cook.

My high energy and smile. Oh...and I talk with my hands. My friends say the best way to shut me up is to have me sit on my hands.

(A) Robert Jordon (The Wheel of Time series), the Russian Night Watch series, David Farland, Shakespeare, Eastern Philosophy, horror, Fantasy, Warhammer 40k and cookbooks. i really do have too many books.

(B) I love foreign flicks, independent, horror, action/adventure - Run Lola Run, Babette's Feast, LOTR....

(C) Musicals, goth, industrial, opera, classical, jazz, alternative, synthpop. Stomp, Blue Man Group were fantastic!...Usually anything that has a great beat that I can move to like Peter Murphy, VNV Nation, The Cure (of course), The Dresden Dolls, Rottersand....dont like country or rap though.

(D) Your kidding right? - i was a chef...I love food though it doesnt show. There is nothing that I wont try. Hmmm....Mushrooms and cheese i cannot do without.

Food and cooking - see, I told you i love to cook. But when I am not thinking about cooking, I wonder about humanity and how I can further help the underdog. That one of the solutions to my life is One Day at A Time. How better I can be of service to society and give back what was so freely given to me.
