My self-summary
Hey, I'm Corey. I'm a pretty easy-going person. I enjoy lots of things that some folks might find kind of boring; going for walks, watching documentaries, reading the newspaper, etc. I prefer hanging out somewhere low-key to going to a club or a crazy loud bar. With that said, I certainly don't think I'm a total bore. I love going out for live music, and I'm usually very open to trying new things.
I try not to take things too seriously, and I smile much more than my pictures would suggest.
What I’m doing with my life
I run anger management and substance abuse prevention programming with at-risk youth at a non-profit mental health agency.
I recently started a master's program in social work.
I’m really good at
Making people laugh, working with kids, playing the bass.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Some of my favorite artists include: Ween, James Brown, Tom Waits, Funkadelic, Miles Davis, Black Flag, Howlin' Wolf, and many, many more.
My favorite movies are Cabin Boy, Dead Man, and anything with a car chase.
Most of my favorite books are written by comedians (George Carlin, Milton Berle, Steve Martin, etc.). I also like Siddhartha, music biographies, American history, short fiction, and the newspaper.
My favorite TV show is the Simpsons. I also like the Daily Show and Law & Order (preferably in marathon format) .
I like most foods besides cheese and steak. I know, I know, everyone else in the world likes them both a lot. Chinese food is probably my favorite.
I worked as a cook throughout college, but I rarely end up making anything interesting when I'm just cooking for myself.
The six things I could never do without
Music
A pocket comb
Netflix
Walks/bike rides
Chinese food
A car (It took a few long weeks without a car to realize just how much I need one)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
... where I left my glasses.
On a typical Friday night I am
Hanging out at a friend's place. Going out for a drink. Listening to live music.
