My self-summary
A British friend calls me cheeky. I prefer Quirky. With a big "Q". I think I'm funny. Sometimes I'm the only one laughing. That's fine. I like to laugh.

I've been travelling but am now firmly settled in West Seattle. I am, though, trying to figure out why decent guys live in Bellevue and Kent. What's with that?

I drink tea, I gave up coffee. I knit. I have tiny dog. I rant.

My ideal Saturday afternoon includes one or three of the following: friends, sex, knitting.
What I’m doing with my life
I make people look good for a living. I'm a professional hair stylist. I've been doing this for a while now and really enjoy getting paid to be creative for a living. I like helping people feel good about themselves.
I’m really good at
I am really good at being a friend. I enjoy listening and chatting with those I care about. I like being involved in other peoples lives. I'm really good at knitting, which is a great channel for my fidgety energy. I hope you like hats, because I hate knitting socks. I even do it professionally sometimes ie. people pay cash for knitted products. Strange but true.
The first things people usually notice about me
They normally hear me laughing first.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I love to read. I will give pretty much anything a try. But, I draw the line at Twilight. I read thrillers, mystery, scify, fantasy novels and love historical fiction too.

I enjoy music, but I am horrible with band names, but I'm always up for listening to new stuff.

TV and movies are a guilty pleasure - Fringe Season 3, NCIS, and Castle at the moment. One of my favorite things to do is to curl up on the couch, watch an action flick (Snatch) and knit (ugly sweater for a friend).

Currently reading: "The Help" by Kathryn Stockett, "The 4th Bear" by Jasper FForde, and "Fall of Giants" by Ken Follett. (Yes - all at the same time. This week.)
The six things I could never do without
I guess that this is like "if you're stranded on a desert island..."
1. George, my dog.
2. Pillow, I like to be comfortable when I'm sleeping or relaxing.
3. An extremely long book or better yet a really prolific authors complete collection.
4. An endless supply of yarn and needles. I don't want to get bored right?
5. Salt, it makes everything taste better.
6. A good companion. Someone whom I can be myself with. Have long conversations with about nothing or to be silent with. Just to know I'm not alone. It's hard to find someone whom you can be comfortable enough with that you don't have to fill the silence with.

I seem to have missed any kind of useful survival tools: water, a knife, rope, matches, toothbrush, boy scout. Still a pillow is important. Did I say I miss the bigger picture sometimes?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Actually, I'm in a minority. I'm actually not wondering about what I'm doing with my life. I'm enjoying it, and am pretty content with how things are going now. I like my career, I have good friends. I live in a nice neighborhood.

I am thinking about what car I should replace my current gas guzzler. Any suggestions?
On a typical Friday night I am
On Fridays I have just gotten off work and like to meet up with friends for a few hours. Get a drink, have a bite, enjoy some good conversation. I have to work on Saturdays, so I turn into a pumpkin earlier than later. I believe in having fun and still being a functional human being the next day.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I am a bit of a dork. I say I'm willing to talk about anything, but depending on the topic I get easily flustered and turn bright red. I'm pretty sure this is endearing, right?

I don't have many demands. Some of the following would be nice. A friend took down the following list which started and ended with a long sigh. If you are someone who:

* Is focused.
* Knows what they like and don't like.
* Wants to change things that are not right.
* Pursues the things they care about.
* Is not really a huge sports fan.
* Likes animals - small, big, hairy.
* Is interested in travelling.
* Likes to educate themselves.
* Wants to learn new things, doesn't want to stay the same.
* Has a curiosity about life.
* Is happy with your life and want to share that with somebody.
* Doesn't mind more than a handful.
* Is willing to take time to invest in the right relationship
* Is willing to try new and interesting foods.

Then we should really hang out sometime.
