I am weird, the bestest, and giggly.

My Self-Summary

I wonder how often my username is mistakenly thought to involve the word "wink." It's actually my first name and last initial.

I used to have a bloody novel here. Pretty much every piece of possibly pertinent information, along with a few random lame jokes, existed here. So I decided to start fresh.

I'm a psychology and statistics student. I actually identify as a psychologist and scientist though, which seems to be somewhat different compared to most of my classmates. I'm also a gamer. I'm a lot of things. One of those things is a girl and another is a boy.

Born in Virginia, I've lived in Georgia for the last two-thirds of my life. I've lived with two old college friends for the last three years.

I'm an atheist. I argue with preachy, bitter atheists though, because I'm not anti-religion or anti-spirituality. I believe that perception is 99% of an individual's reality, and I also believe in human experience. If a person tells me he or she has experienced "God," then I cannot deny his or her experience.

What I’m doing with my life

School, school, school. Games, games, games. Research, research, research.

Slowly collecting piercings. Just got a 10g in each earlobe, and I'll begin stretching once they heal; I'm at least going up to a 6g, but I might go as high as a 2g. I have a fully healed tongue piercing and PA as well. Future plans include a medusa or madonna.

I’m really good at

Making funny faces.

Getting my hair to curl in ways that make me smile.

Lying to you? My tells are pretty obvious though.

Tagging random words to appease my compulsive tendencies to complete random meters.

The first things people usually notice about me

I'm a bit taller than average. My hair is often referred to as a mane. My eyes sparkle when I talk about the human brain.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

In order of book, movie, music, food:

Chronicles of Amber, V for Vendetta, most music played on Album 88.5, french onion soup.
Loveless, The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra, Kudu, spanikopita.
Fallen Dragon, Transformers: The Animated Movie, Mindless Self Indulgence, smoked andouie
Cryptonomicon, Dark Knight, Alabama 3, unagi sushi
Snow Crash, Choke, really mellow covers of metal songs, curry udon

Interesting narratives and plays on words, movies that make me cry, movies that make fun of themselves, gorgeous manga, food that sounds funny but tastes great, and music with silly lyrics and silly feelings.

What follows is a brain dump, an info deposit, an inelegant and ugly pile of unpolished thoughts and not at all pretty words.

Music: Muse, Prince Buster, Frou Frou, Mika, Garbage, The Cure, Coheed and Cambria, Fujiya Miyagi, Johnny Cash, Gary Jules, Poe, Scissor Sisters, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, theSTART, Nine Inch Nails, the Bioshock soundtrack, Cake, Freezepop, Kate Bush, Ladyhawke, Marilyn Manson, Oreskaband, Queen, Rammstein, Sneaker Pimps, [proTon], Jessica Tonder

Books: the Incarnation series, the Otari Chronicles, Madwand, Lord of Light, Donnerjack, Berserk, the Chronicles of Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever, my cognitive psych textbook, the Richter-Veresov Opening, Dune, The Brother's War, The Gathering Darkness, Nemesis, and many others that were sadly lost during the exodus. Never could get into Lord of the Rings, sadly. Tales of MU

Movies: Seven Pounds, 300, Akira, Dead Leaves, Paprika, The Fifth Element, SLC Punk, Sword and the Stone, Alice in Wonderland, Grindhouse, Cool World, Waking Life, Princess Bride, Good Will Hunting

Food: sushi, swordfish, pizza from out of the way places, calamari, cleverly used vinegar

Video Games: Bioshock, Odin Sphere, Mirror's Edge, Star Fox 64, Super Smash Bros, Fallout 3, Halo, Gears of War, Starcraft, Diablo, WoW, Enchanted Arms, Mario Kart 64, City of Heroes/Villains

Pen n' Paper Games: Exalted, DnD, Shadowrun, the diceless Amber system, Scion, Changeling, Mage

Card Games: Fluxx, Magic: the Gathering, Munchkin

The six things I could never do without

Honesty
Weird and out there music.
Cigarettes
An alarm clock
Time to meditate
My piercings

I spend a lot of time thinking about

That fact that it doesn't matter who does it, so long as it gets done. That there's always time to do what I want, but never enough time to do what I need. And how bloody lucky I am.

That the best thing about turning 21 is the freedom to cook with wine.

Dehumanization, anonymity, and how those functionalities actually work in a social species like ours.

The nature of trust.

On a typical Friday night I am

Out and about or in and around.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I don't really have anything I consider too personal. For something random to note though, I skipped high school.

You should message me if

I'm unusual, and I'm difficult to love and sometimes difficult to like. Right now, I'm looking for someone that I feel comfortable with and want to get to know. Comfort is essentially the priority right now, as that allows for time to slowly build trust.

When it comes to girls, I have a particular soft spot for tomboys and gamers.
When it comes to boys, I have a soft spot for the eccentric and patient.
For both genders, if you love being a geek and talking about random science and history trivia. Physics makes me swoon and astronomy makes my toes curl.
