I really hate writing these things, but I really shouldn't leave this blank. Hi. I'm sort of your classic northwest born computer geek. Very left leaning, socially libertarian, (L deliberately left lower case) and looking for social interaction. Over the years I have become somewhat... feral. This isn't me trying to sound like some kind of tough guy, and if you've ever been around feral cats you know what I'm talking about: Skittish around strangers but I'm ok once I get to know you. :)
** Update **
Ok, been working on the feral thing.... I'm still a bit of a hermit but I have been getting out more often. I still have a need for what a friend once called 'man-cave time...' but that's more or less normal.
I am independent, leftist, and slightly feral
** Update Update **
Since it seems to have happened a few times recently.... I'm not A-list, so if you leave a like on my profile, I can't see who you are. Message me instead. I don't bite. :)
What I’m doing with my life
Currently looking for work and trying to live my life. I've moved
back to the Portland area and am getting settled in.
I’m really good at
Computers and listening to people. I'm also reasonably good at
being.... a bit paranoid. (You get used to it.) :)
The first things people usually notice about me
I'll get someone else to write this part. :) It'll be more honest
from "someone else": You'll notice his intelligence, his intense
gaze, and his sexy voice. Well, that's what I noticed, anyway.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I'm a big Robert Heinlein buff, (the sort that was mortally offended by the movie version of Starship Troopers) plus the classics. Frank Herbert, Roger Zelazny, (of course) JRR Tolkien.... plus more modern works, largely from the Baen crowd. David Weber, (big Honor Harrington fan) Eric Flynt,
** Edit **
Sorry, John..... you gots to go. There are some things I can't forgive. Rewriting history so that the Wafen SS were just misunderstood soldiers..... yeah.... that's one of them. I know you're a hardcore right-winger, and I could overlook that for a good story..... but..... frankly you're not THAT good.
The six things I could never do without
Aside from the basics of life, I've learned over the years that
there's very little I actually can't live without. Whether I enjoy
the experience or not doesn't really enter into the equation.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Politics, (I'm intensely political) video games, (Edit: Tabula Rasa is dead. To hell with NCSoft. I won't be going back to City of Heroes/Villains either, soooo.... I guess I'm continuing on my Nethack binge until I find another MMO) sex, (I'm male. Deal.) and life in general. :)
** edit **
Recently got back into Everquest. (Hey, it's free.) Currently I'm working on that and other thoughts include the various political issues that are important to me.
** Update **
Everquest eventually got on my nerves. Binging on modded Minecraft these days.
On a typical Friday night I am
Home gaming usually. Also frequently laundry and posting on teh
I can be found on DailyKos and YouTube when I'm not
** update **
Being dragged back into SecondLife turned out to be a much more
temporary thing than I had suspected it might be.
** update update **
Got booted from DailyKos. Apparently being an uppity minority is a
problem. Who knew? Oh and youtube is a wretched hive of scum and
villainy. That one didn't come as nearly as much of a surprise.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I think we've gotten about as private as I'm willing to get on a
site full of strangers. I do answer questions honestly, but
anything private would have to require that I know the person in
question. :) (I also reserve the right to refuse to answer
questions that would involve someone else's privacy.)
You should message me if
